I chose to have your videos playing while I paint because your voice is so calming for me. You're a fantastic artist and very encouraging!
ОтветитьI love the sound of your voice. It's one of my favorite things about your videos!
ОтветитьYou have an amazing life story, i would love to to make an income from my artwork. And forget this stressful life of working on construction projects to make a living. Well done to for for giving it a go and being successful
I love your work
Similar story here! Thank you for sharing your story. I have been told at a young age I'm not good enough and artists can't make a living, so I didn't even try but I always wondered. Things really changed after having my first child, especially after maternity leave and the price for full-time nursery just wasn't worth me going to work. Recently, I decided to quit my job to look after my little human and try pivoting my career & yourube channel sharing my progress on becoming an author-illustrator one day.. whether it'll happen, I don't know, but at least I can say I'm giving a damn good whack at it! Hearing your story gives me hope and shows, it can be done and its never too late!
ОтветитьI needed this so much today! Thank you for the inspiration 😍 I'm glad you make videos and your voice is lovely! You have nothing to worry about 😊
ОтветитьHi , my story of life is so similar to yours ! I was a teacher in France for 35 years !!! Although I had to wait my retirement at 60 to paint full time as I raised my child alone , I am so happy to do acrylics and watercolors … in the south of France near Albi where I live now . A thank you for your tips !!!❤I like your work
Ответитьlove your life story, so inspiring ~
Ответить❤ such a beautiful story...❤
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьThank you Louise! I am so thankful for your teaching & sharing of your gifts with all of us 💕
ОтветитьOh no way, I have that book you co-authored, had no idea! Wow! This video is really inspiring… I’m 32 and absolutely miserable with my retail job (the people I work with are nice but the actual job is so repetitive and mundane and a lot of customers treat me like I’m something on the bottom of their shoe even though I do my best to be kind and polite and never pressure them to buy anything). I have a second job too in the medical field which I love but my heart has always been drawn to art. I think this was my sign to finally start my art business on the side and eventually quit retail.
ОтветитьThats a great story. Thanks for sharing. I'm so glad you've been so successful. 😊
ОтветитьLove the out takes at the end. Your channel, along with a few others I am following, have inspired me to starter color painting again after having not painting in more than 30 years. So thank you for all your hard work and wonderful instructional videos.
ОтветитьYou are such an inspiration! Thank you for sharing!
ОтветитьThanks again for sharing your story, Louise! Very inspiring to see somebody succeed and get out of the teaching profession for good. I love your videos and VOICE! All the best to you! :)
Ответить❤ the sound of your voice.
ОтветитьDear Louise, I love your work, and your voice is so calm and soothing. This video represents me from start to end. I've been a teacher for 38 years and finally decided to quit my job last month and use the free time to learn more and pratice painting watercolor. It's one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life. Since then I've been invited to illustrate a poem book and a children's book. I'm so excited about that. That's what I always wanted to do ❤
ОтветитьDear Louise, I’m so glad that you were able to pursue your dream. How wonderful that your partner supported you throughout your journey.
I’m 64 and retired 9 months ago from a grueling IT job. I was always a creative person but had little time to pursue my interests. After retirement My friend talked me into painting classes with her and I’m so glad she did! I discovered your YT channel a few months ago. My favorite thing is to listen to you talk and watch you paint. Your talent is beyond words! Thank you for sharing it with us. I wish you many years of success and happiness on your dream journey!
I love hearing stories of people chasing their dreams and getting them. Most people can't do what you did but if they continue to search for a way, they might just find it. I think that your voice is really relaxing, by the way

ОтветитьLouise you are such a treasure...BTW I loved your curly hair when you were younger... You have been so lucky to be able to follow your heart at last. I think we all go through the former as we establish our lives. Cant say Ive ever heard anyone say they jumped into their dream job as a young person and still love it decades later.. You are very lucky to have the support of Dom and your family, but Dom you might think you can retire but you know Louise is going to want you to build bigger and better studios as time goes by, probably one which also incorporates your sons video business too... Thank you to everyone, Skillshare included who have helped Louise to where she is today, where would WE ALL BE if she had gone back to teaching????That bald headed negative teacher has a lot to answer for. I wonder if he had given you positive feedback would you have started your artist career earlier or maybe you are right now where you were meant to be :) THANK YOU LOUISE FOR ALL YOU CONTRIBUTE TO MY ARTIST LEANINGS
cheers from WA

Your lovely soothing kind voice is one of the reasons I love your videos so much. You really do have a great voice to listen to. Thanks for all the advice, the encouragement, and the empathy also. Not everybody cares or even realise that opportunities are not the same for all. But you do. Your soul is as lovely as your voice, and your husband and son's too, who seems very supportive. I am very happy for you that you could realise your dream and have such a mutually caring relationship.
ОтветитьLife is full of twist and turns all for a reason when you get older you’ll understand. I am 80 still painting I learned a new art called encaustic. Take care brenda from Canada near Toronto ontario
Ответить@LouiseDeMasi Thanks for being transparent & sharing. You have inspired me to start my Patreon page. I appreciate your inspiration 💜.
@DomDom282 Just like you, my wife has supported my artistic dreams as well. Having a supportive spouse is a blessing.
Thanks for sharing your inspiring story! And how funny that while listening I thought that you have such a calming and beautiful voice!
ОтветитьMy favourite thing about your videos is your voice! It’s so calm but joyful. Thank you for letting your personality shine through.
Your paintings are beautiful and I’m so grateful you took that plunge to follow your dream, because your gift has brought so much joy to so many people. I’ve learned so much from watching your videos. Thank you!
Thanks. Great story. So helpful....
ОтветитьI hate the sound of my voice recorded too. Just you know I love watching and listening to your videos at night. It helps me relax and it’s so soothing, so please don’t stop making videos! 😊
ОтветитьI think your voice is so beautiful and soothing! Thank you so much for your videos. I'm learning so much!
ОтветитьI am at this moment in my life where I want to leave teaching to pursue being an artist. I chose teaching because it was "a secure job".
When you said you were a teacher, I burst into tears!
how beautiful. your honesty and gentleness. Your paintings are beautiful and so skilled. I love the outtakes at the end too. Thank you. <3
ОтветитьLouise's bloopers are so funny! I love her and so glad I found her. I am addicted to watercolor and it helps my body to relax! You go girl!
ОтветитьI'm watching this as I'm 80% done with my teaching degree. It's so hard to show up every day for teacher observation when all I dream about is making art and being able to generate enough income to do it full time! Seeing how kids act now is truly shocking.
Thanks for making this video and giving me hope!
Dear Louise, you are so sweet and inspirational! ❤ Thank you for sharing your own life story and clever advice
ОтветитьThank you thank you thank you for your courage to become an artist and not giving up! It gives us strength and faith that we can do anything we were dreaming about 🙏🏻
ОтветитьI love love love your art, watercolor skills and your accent . 🥰
ОтветитьI can really relate to the teaching experiences, I am just getting ready to retire in May. I am loving my painting transition! I hope travel and painting will happen with my hubby after. Thank you for this information!
ОтветитьReally interesting and helpful. Inspiring for beginners and pros
ОтветитьWow!!! This is my own story... I used to teach and I've always wanted to persue an art career, but believed the same things... Can't get over how much our stories are alike...except, i don't have the support to be able to do what you're doing... I want to, but don't know how... Thank you for sharing your story... Maybe one day....
ОтветитьBtw, I"m a newbie here and i love your work... And the fact, that now you teach what you truly love... Thank you! 😊 Btw, i love your sheep painting, that's how i found you, as my brother is a shepherd and i have fallen in love with sheep now! So much, that I want to draw and paint them! If only, i could find the time, as i work a lot...for AQHA...which has inspired me to want to draw and paint horses... Drawing and watercolor painting is all i think about, but never seem to get to do...
ОтветитьI love your voice Louise.
ОтветитьI love the sound of your voice and it is one of the main reasons I watch your videos and joined your classes. You inspire so many people daily. Thanks so much for sharing your skills with the world.
ОтветитьAside from the fact that I think you are an excellent teacher (I taught college), I love your voice and never tire of listening to it! Why is it that some of the lovliest people on earth think so little of themselves? (Takes one to know one!) 😉
ОтветитьI love your voice!!!! And your art!!!
ОтветитьI was surprised you have an aversion to hearing your voice. I think your voice is so lovely and very calming and reassuring. Thanks for the beautiful videos.
