Created 6 years ago by Adam Ledoux, Bitsy is a browser-based open source game engine that allows you to create short games with a retro aesthetic, where interactions are limited to walking and talking to characters or objects. Inspired by Twine and Pico-8, Bitsy brings together many marginalized and queer people, resulting in a flurry of intimate, poetic, narrative, unique and touching creations. In conversation with critic and art historian Morgan Labar, Velvet Aubry will reflect on her passion for Bitsy, a notable tool of the current independent scene. Poetry, queerness and anti-capitalism are on the agenda!

Velvet Aubry is a young transgender and lesbian artist. As a game developper, code tinkerer and slutty electro musician, Velvet writes tiny games that are simple but deep, with a minimalistic aesthetic. Recently graduated from the Superior School of Art of Aix-en-Provence in 2022, she infuses her sexuality, experience and researches into her creations. Velvet Aubry is also an active member of the PangPangClub, a group dedicated to weird games creation and broadcast.
