Stellen die Komplexität her, es ist nur ein Zusammenfügen von einfachen Dingen
GRAVITY.SWISS SA is a Research and Development (R & D) society - CHE-283-321-046. Our company ISO9001.2015, located in a mountain chalet at 1'100 meters altitude was born in the heart of the “Swatch Valley”. Sector: microtechnology researches and fabrications, especially 3D fractal-type machining in streaming for artistic, watchmaking or medical applications.
To understand :
On 1 mm² of your skin, you have infinitely more complexity than any object manufactured by man. Our goal is to manage these very large quantities of data in order to replicate them. During your visit, every second, between 100 and 1000 mathematical points are read, interpreted, and transferred. They gently generate a small piece of work, during 9 to 20 weeks, 24 hours a day.
Research began in 2012 with the goal of creating fractal structures as far as modern technologies would allow. Indeed, there is a flagrant difference between human creations and those from nature or physics. The "scale complexity" is different. Where man limits himself to specifications related to his manufacturing techniques, nature and physics use much more powerful scaling factors to aggregate the main specifications with multiple sub-functions.
To try to emulate this natural process, we have transformed hundreds of millions of data points into contemporary works of art. The aim was to bring a new vision of watchmaking quality and "Swiss Made" technology applied to large formats. Originally, our works were intended to be mere demonstrators.
Being able to reproduce nature, or at least get as close as possible, has created an unexpected result: Unintentionally, we have created a powerful art form capable of awakening all of our senses.
For us, in conclusion
Mathematics has allowed man to model his universe. Today it is possible to create a computer image and to create an object in 3D thanks to computer science. The more complex the object, the more actual manufacturing requires specific experiences and knowledge. Computer power seems to offer infinite modeling capabilities compared to man's manufacturing capabilities.
" so it seems "
In our field, the roughness of Benoit Mandelbrot in particular, we propose a technological breakthrough where the limitations are reversed. An area where artifacts are more than 1000 times more complex than today's most powerful computers can display.
When our machines finally complete their work cycle, they offer us a vision that no screen has ever been able to reproduce. Our Art is there, since it cannot be shown anywhere else.
