ОтветитьIn our Indian culture, our mums, grandmas and their mothers told their daughters when expecting a baby that during the first 2 weeks having a baby from 1st day, eat only moong lentils (green) dal and tempering should be only with ghee (concentrated butter unsalted), heat it add cumin seeds and aesfotida one pinch, let it crackle, add fresh ginger grinded about 1/2tspn. Saute and add 1/4 tspn of tumeric, 1/4 tspn of garam masala (inian herbs). In half a bowl of boiled lentils there are 3 different types of same lentils, one is, whole grain, second is split lentils and third is split but without the peel. You can boil any one of these. But same amount of ingredients should be used.
Chapatis 1/2 bowl of wheat flour, add 1/4tspn of carom seeds, a little salt and less than 1/4tspn of tumeric. Mix dry ingredients first and add 1/2 tspn of oil mix well and knead the dough up. Soft dough, cover n keep it aside. After 10 to 20 mins, knead it again. Now heat up the pan (tawa) it's called in hindi. Roll the chapatis and toast / bake them properly. Apply ghee or i prefer butter. Make as many as you would eat. Have your dal and only green vegetables curry avoud veges like cauliflower, ladies fingers (okra), and radishes. Never have citricy foods or fruits and juices either this will give you n baby tummy ache, babies get colic. We are taught to make gurdh/gur which comes in a big ball or lumps it's like brown sugar. In 1tblspn of butter/ghee, heat it up in a frying pan add carom, fennel n sesame seeds 1 tspn each in one ball of grated Gur, but 1st saute these seeds, add all sorts of nuts chopped up in big pieces, once the aroma comes it's ready, now quickly add the jaggery/Gur, let it melt and simmer for 5vmins but keep stirring it. Once it's ready remove in a greased tray or metal plate. Let it cool down n cut into cubes 1 n 1/2 inch squares or any shapes n sizes. Have this heated up in the microwave oven eat it with a big glass of milk X 4 a day until your baby is at least 3 months old.
But the lentils n chapatis for 11 to 14 days. After that you can eat as normal but still avoid tomatoes lemon, oranges and pineapple and passion fruits and juices as well.
Drink plenty of warm or hot water.
You can add 1tspn of fennel, 1/2 tspn of carom seeds and a big pinch of suya seeds these look like cumin seeds but are flat in shape. You can get these seeds from any Asian shops, Amazon and other asian supermarkets online shopping centres. You'll see your babies won't suffer.
In case if you've gone out or had pizzas than if baby gets colic, take one cup of hot water in a pan and add a pinch of aesfotida to the water and stir for few minutes. Remove from the hob and let it cool down. Test the temperature of the water if its warm and safe to use.
Take a cotton wool ball, soak the water and squeeze out excess water, open baby's clothes pull the nappy down. Apply around the belly button in circular motion clockwise direction few times. Let it dry up naturally. Do this at least 3 times a day. Baby will never get colic after applying for a week or 10 days.
Always keen baby's head on your shoulders and pat the back pressing the back lightly.
Or sit your baby on your laps with one hand under the chin pressing with the palm of your hand, with other hand do circular movements and pat the back lightly until baby burps. Always make baby burp in between feeding by bottle or breastfed too. Hope this helps first time mums and mums who have problems with 2nd or any more babies. God bless every woman, lady n mum with good health and happiness always.

ОтветитьCanola oil? Ignore this video. Canola oil is completely inflammatory and should be avoided at all times of your life. Come on people. How about we really focus on what makes a healthy baby and back off the SAD crazy talk.
