What equipment do you use?

I think the main thing these tutorial for get to mention is that learning your DAW is like learning a language. It’s really hard to write a good book if you don’t fully know the language your writing in. Learning to control your daw. Produce in your daw, mix. AND THEN learn the elements of the genre you want to make and these videos work. But if you can’t control the daw yet and produce what your thinking than these tutorials seem like it’s super easy but when you actually try to replicate this you end up sounding stupid

Fun fact: Skrillex started to produce his style of music because he had his nose broken at a from first to last show. He damaged something with his vocal chords and couldn't scream. So the growl was something he thought could replace it. If course he can sing now. But at the time that was his next best option. Plus of course he was already making heavy electro before he heard the brostep style that excision and downlink brought to LA at the time. It was extremely underground, that why people were so surprised to hear it because nothing sounded like it at all. The other fun fact, is in an interview with iZotope, soony said the scary monsters growl was actually made by accident. He was with Noisia and it was a Reese bass that had distortion put on it. I think it was made in fm8 originally. He used massive back then as well before serum got huge. Anyways, now you know.

Like do you add samples to the pads and use it as a midi controller? I have a maschine and i use logic and think it would be a game changer to be able to do this!

Dubstep was around long before Skrillix popped off. Traditional Dubstep was more melodic and when Bro-step blew up everyone called THAT dubstep and people called traditional Dubstep, melodic
