You should try snipers only with "in the zone" one thing I thought was amazing (on one playthrough that I watched I wish I'd save the recording) the streamer because he was like wiping out two groups of pods per turn (cant do it in long war because they reduced the aim for every enemy that was killed by in the zone)

From what I’ve heard about X-Com 2, challenge runs are going to be a bit harder.

They apparently decided to punish players who want to employ any sort of caution by setting a strict turn limit for every mission that results in an automatic fail, so aggressive tactics are now the ONLY tactics.

In case you care, when you're looking at the 'character sheet' and his HP is 6+8, the 8 is ablative MEC that can be lost without causing him to go into recovery and the 6 is his 'personal' HP that needs to be recovered if lost. If I'm remembering right.

To answer your question about wound threshold : A soldier cannot be injured if the received damage is lower than what it's armor give him as far as HP goes. So if the armor give 4 HP, he can take 3 damage with 0 risk of injuries. 4 damage and I think he can be injured if unlucky. After that it's all aboard the monthly injuries train.

fun fact:if you get just the right shot, you can lay mines in range to hit the uber overseer without spawning the fight in. Also, any form of explosion will immediately set off prox mines. do with this information what you will.

I'm actually kinda surprised Lemon hasn't played Halo considering that game's a gold mine for challenge run content.

You don't get damaged if all the damage is on your armour
Check the soldier HP in barrack 8+14 for example
You need to take 15 damage to be wounded

Cortana getting the nickname "socks" made me think of all the people after cortanas feet as the launch of Halo Infinite

The only part about MECs I don't love is that some bright spark apparently glued the collider drum in the weapon body to the optics support rail on top, so whenever the camera jumps in for a firing closeup you get a PRIMO view of the weapon model breaking and stuttering around as the gun ramps up to fire. I can't believe a fix mod for it doesn't jump up whenever I try googling this shit!

I always went with the Kinetic Strike Module, I still remember chanting 'K! S! M! K! S! M!' Whenever I used it.

I always thought MECs look so cringe. An awkward tiny headed robot with a MASSIVE dumpy. Can’t even bring myself to play with them since they are so ugly.

Reg. Only killing the overseer and none of his minions i did know that.
On my first time going through the game i got most of my squad downed or mindcontrolled in the throneroom. Only my sniper really far back still alive.

Gets one shot off. Its a critt. And i win the game

Any better is if Cortana was a support instead of assault. Could take advantage of the extra running tiles and to support the chief with smoke covers, plus giving her gene modifications to keep her alive and healthy.

The rules stated that she can't fight, but didn't say that you can't buff her to be a good defensive unit.

I'm surprised you didn't go for warden tanking. That extra durability is nice.

This game is very focused on MECs hence a stupid amount of upgrades
