You think 6-1/2" is normal?
Somebody had to say it.😊
Do the grips feel plastic or rubbery?
ОтветитьI've got one, and it's the 8.375" version. 😎
ОтветитьA fantastic and thorough review. Very clearly spoken and I love your enthusiasm. I'm getting a BB version for sure.
ОтветитьSorry for the (probably) silly question: can you load pellets trough the bb shells? Thank you!
ОтветитьIn the 6.5" inch version The steel rifled section is 2.75 inches long. The end of that fits into an aluminium tube which is 6mm inside diameter and around 3.5 inch long. Pretty sure the BB version is full length in the 6.5 inch m29

ОтветитьBeautiful replica but it appears power levels are getting lower and lower on newer replicas. 6ftIb max for us in the uk but I can't help thinking we are being ripped off in the power stakes. My older Smith and Wesson 586 6" shoots at over 450 fps with a 7g pellet on average, so what's going on with the decline in power?
Ответить1 to 2 ft-lbs power is ridiculous.
Ответить"Its the law isnt it!" in more ways then one Andy, in more ways then one :P
ОтветитьThe real one has 1600 joules!
ОтветитьLooking to get first c02 gun and since we don't have guns where I am from, I want something iconic that is very realistic!
pellet or bb... saa or double action... maybe m29.... ooof. choices
I bought the 6.5 inch pellet version and was very disappointed with the silly little rifled 3 inch barrel and alloy spacer.
Took a 7 inch barrel out of an old Stoeger pneumatic and had it machined to match the original barrel and spacer. 2.5ft/lbs muzzle energy with H&N Excite Econs and much improved accuracy. Also got a set of the 629 rubber grips which are a better match to the dull chrome finish than the faux wood grips.
Shame the power is so low , good looking gun though.
Ответитьwhats the fps and is it better than the Crosman sr375?
ОтветитьEven the Dan Wesson 6 inch only has 2.5 inches of rifling ,and the legend series .
ОтветитьNot sure whether you are aware Andy but the pellet version is only rifled for the first 2.5 inches and rest is smooth bore ,this is the same on the 8 inch version as well .Which put me off buying it .
ОтветитьI owned the long barrelled version of this formidable handgun when I was a member of my police shooting
club here in London UK some decades ago. Even my Colt 12" barrelled "Buntline" pistol was a runner-up
in the effect from the act of firing. The cost of the ammunition was one factor that saw use restricted
of the S&W weapon. My lingering memory is how strongly built it was and how that was a very visual
indication that it was not to be handlled with less than due diligence and respect.
Great show and channel!!!
ОтветитьGreat review, really enjoyed it I know this was a while ago but I managed to pick one up in a sale for £135 👍and you are right just having it is brilliant thanks Andy
ОтветитьAre the shells of a BB's version the same as the pellet's version?
ОтветитьHello, great video !!! do you know where I can buy it ?? thank you !
ОтветитьU.K. airpistols need to learn how to swim1 We may see them over here in U. S. A. but don,t count on it! T hanks for Great video!
ОтветитьI got one of these this week after Andys review. Love it you do can't help but be all Clint Eastwood when you pick it up 😂
ОтветитьFirst one I purchased was over £200 picked the 8 and 3 inch up for £79 each, why has the price dropped so much?
ОтветитьGreetings from America Andy, California to be more precise! It’s okay, you can laugh at us if you want… We deserve it! Made the same mistake as you British, trusting politicians! 🤦♂️🙉🙈🙊🤫 We should all be ashamed of ourselves! Trusting somebody Who lives for a living! I don’t actually remember ever doing that, but somebody actually had to vote for Gavin Newsom, didn’t they? 🤬‼️ THEY stole that too! 😡🙄 Anyway, I just wanted to tell you what a great job you’re doing & how much I enjoy your videos! Thank you Sir. Best wishes to you and your family. ✌️🇺🇸🇬🇧
ОтветитьAlmost identical to the Crosman SR .357. Other than using different BB/pellet cartridges they appear to be built in the same factory using many of the same parts.
ОтветитьThe M29 replica really does look, and feel, pretty much like the real thing, which I guess what Umarex are tapping into. BUT, as much as I enjoy watching Andy's reviews, he's omitted some valid points.
I have both the 3"and 8 3/8" versions so I know what I'm talking about.
Okay, they both look brilliant but anyone that's handled a real revolver knows there should be no lateral movement of the cylinder in the closed position. Because Umarex omitted to put a spring loaded pin in the frame to keep the end of the ejector rod in place, there's a large "wobble factor" resulting in an annoying rattle when you handle the gun.
The most annoying thing about both the 6 1/2" & 8 3/8" versions is that only about 2 1/2" of the barrel is rifled(!!) with the remainder being a widening smooth bore up to about .23" instead of .177".
No wonder Andy's shooting wasn't more accurate.
Now, I've contacted Umarex & they confirm the lack of rifling in the pellet versions & they say it's down to cost & would add €100 to production cost to do the job right.
Yeah........
So, my local Gun Guru has already adapted my 3" with both a spring loaded pin to hold the cylinder in place and fit a fully rifled barrel. Result; it shoots like a dream up to about 12 yards.
I intend to ask him to convert the long barrel version similarly.
Cost per gun approx €35.
If done on a mass production level, it'd cost Umarex next to nothing.
Conclusion; still worth buying provided you do the appropriate mods but shame on Umarex for not doing a proper job to begin with.
cant find the 6.5 inch anywhere to buy, its listed on umarex site, but cant order
i have seen the 8.3 inch everywhere to buy on pyramid, amazon etc...where did you buy the 6.5 ??
thanks
Put the 8 inch over the chrono!
ОтветитьGo Ahead Punk.
ОтветитьVilken revolver eller pistol har den bästa precisionen av alla vapen du har testat? Jag förstår engelska men kan inte skriva den.
ОтветитьI've shot these actual revolvers. Nothing comes close. Airgun bois can never come close. 😂
ОтветитьPreciosa presentacion y muy buenas conclusiones Salud.
ОтветитьAwaiting mine in the 6.5 inch rifled barrel version. Unlike some l prefer to shoot CO2 pistols at quite short distances of no more than 25 feet or less (l never shoot my .177 air rifles beyond 30 yards) because a) my eyesight is 70 years old, and b) l like the tightest groups possible. These are air weapons and their limitations should be respected, especially if you’re hunting with a .177 or .22 rifle. I don’t kill anything but time, but if l did I’d shoot myself if l couldn’t guarantee a humane kill.
ОтветитьI have to ask Andy, does the faux wood grip feel similar to actual wooden handgrips?
ОтветитьNow they need to produce the other iconic movie pistol, the 475 Wildey Magnum, from Death Wish.
Ответитьthis is my fav gun dose enyone know the best place to get it in 2 tone ????????
ОтветитьHey s
Your shooting way to heavy of pellets and ur not reaching full power
Strangely the 6.5" version isn't available in the USA. I've only found the 8" version for sale.
ОтветитьLove mine it's excellent
ОтветитьAluminium guns
ОтветитьI have been completely unable to find the 6.5 inch airsoft version available here in the USA
ОтветитьI am now wanting to add this lovely piece to my growing collection. I just purchased the Umerex Walther PPQ M2 pellet pistol and really like it. I was very impressed with the accuracy compared to my Crosman M4-177 and the Crosman R1 full auto. That M29 is hot and I want it badly!!!
ОтветитьDirty Harry Sold More guns than anybody. Steven Seagal sold a lot of custom 45s in the 1990s. Everybody wanna be JOHN WICK NOW
ОтветитьWould love to see you get ahold the Uramex Desert Eagle.
ОтветитьSadly my local gun shop has been promising these for nearly a year now. I call it the Dirty Harry effect. Difficult to get Airsoft, CO2, or blank firing versions of the 44 Magnum in the UK. It's almost like they're scared of supplying it to us.
ОтветитьThanks for the in-depth review, I have been debating which version to get. I like how the airsoft version comes with a hop up to improve accuracy.
ОтветитьAndy, you “cowboyed” your gun around 12 minutes! Lol 😂 I thought, “man, this gun is about COOL, a perfect gun and way to do it! Very cool and terrific review as always. Thanks
