The Bangles song If She Knew What Shae Wants is a great number.
ОтветитьFrom the movie less than zero. Robert Downey Jr has a cocaine problem. Life imitating art, imitating life
ОтветитьBisscute: Why did you take down "Jaws" from your Bissflix channel?
ОтветитьAnother great song written by Paul Simon.
ОтветитьThis is such a great song. Written, of course, by Paul Simon, but this version is better than the original. Used in the film, Less Than Zero.
ОтветитьAlmost impossible to cover Simon and Garfunkel and be as good as them ,but this did.
ОтветитьTry there biggest hit (Walk like an Egyptian.
ОтветитьOne of my fave covers. Just fantastic guitars, drums & vocals! dbl ♥
cute outfit! ♥ BTW - this is originally a Simon & Garfunkel song
You should watch the movie that was featured in the video, less than zero
ОтветитьLots of folks have mentioned that this is a Simon and Garfunkel cover, though I'd never heard the song before the The Bangles released their version. Paul Simon has said he likes their version.
ОтветитьNope, it was the brunette Susanna who we all crushed on ... and I mean crushed on hard! The other girls are all pretty, but the simple fact that I can't tell you their names says something.
ОтветитьFrom the first time I saw them on M TV back in the 80's I have had a big old crush on the lead singer Susannah Hoff the lead singer, she is absolutely stunning!
Ответитьhere another from the Sussana Hoffs crush still today😍😁
ОтветитьI was in love with Susanna Hoffs when I was a kid
Ответитьthey had a few other big hits, "Walk like an Egyptian " " and a song Prince wrote for Susanna " Manic Monday "
ОтветитьBest songs by The Bangles: Walk Like an Egyptian, and Eternal Flame, (song sung by the group Bellas, in the movie Pitch Perfect).
ОтветитьIt wasn't a matter of which one but which order.😊
ОтветитьBangles are great now you have to check out the other girl group the Go Gos.
ОтветитьIm not alone digging on Susanna...
ОтветитьSusanna Hoffs is the brunette. She was the lead singer and by far the prettiest chick in that band.
ОтветитьOriginal by Simon and Garfunkel.1968
Ответитьthe original is better by far.... but anyway, susanna hoffs is gorgeous...
ОтветитьI like it when reviewers haven't heard a song before. There's great authenticity in the reaction. But I also like it when they spend 30 seconds or so on wikipedia to just check whether its an original or a cover and who originally wrote it.
ОтветитьHoff's (the short brunette) of course!
Check out some of their other hits like "Manic Monday" and "Walk Like an Egyptian".
Greetings Bisscute
"Hazy Shade of Winter" is a pop-rock winter season song. It is also one of the few where there is NO clear lead singer. All harmonize to give the "chorus" feel to this song that is common in "Christmas songs. You can hear the musicality of each singer clearly and how well they can harmonize. The most attractive choice for most fans of this band was not the "blonde guitar player". It was the dark-haired guitar player Suzanna Hoffs (the "look around, leaves of brown" part)
Since you know little about 80's films in the US, the video included clips from the iconic 80's 'coming-of-age for wealthy kids' movie, "Less Than Zero". You had Andrew McCarthy (Pretty in Pink, Mannequin), Robert Downy, Jr (Iron Man, Tropic Thunder), and Jamie Gertz (The Lost Boys, Twister). This song was one of the 3 main songs of the movie. I suggest you watch the film on your movie review channel, BissFlix. It might even help you understand the context of the song better.
A great song, covered brilliantly by a great group of musicians. Susanna Hoffs is so drop dead gorgeous you could mute the video and still enjoy the visuals.
ОтветитьPlease, react Shaman Fairy Tale by Andre Matos.... He live for eternity....
ОтветитьOh the Bangles are all stunning.. but lets be honest.. They don't compare to our hostess ! She is simply devine !!
ОтветитьThey have a dozen songs as good or better. I Love The Bangles!!
ОтветитьSome of the best harmonies in modern music. you have to check more of them out.
ОтветитьYou should definitely check out more of The Bangles!
ОтветитьThis is a cover of a 1968 song written by Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, and was used in the 1987 film Less Than Zero, starring Andrew McCarthy, Jami Gertz, Robert Downey, Jr., and James Spader.
The Bangles are usually best known for their pop-oriented hits like Manic Monday (written for the band by his Royal Purpleness, Prince) and Walk Like An Egyptian. However, Hazy Shade of Winter is probably more representative of the bulk of their output. They were part of the Paisley Underground movement, and had a lot of punk and 60s psychadelic influences. Their use of harmony was also inspired by the Beatles, with their 60s influences evident in songs like Going Down To Liverpool and In Your Room.
The vocal solo at the end is by rhythm guitarist Susanna Hoffs. Who EVERY guy in the 80 fell in love with after ONE side-eye in the video for Walk Like An Egyptian. She was by far the most popular member of the group. The rest of the band was rounded out by lead guitarist Vicki Peterson, her sister, drummer Debbi Peterson, and bassist Michael "Mickey" Steele (Steele was also the original bassist for the Runaways, but departed the band right before they broke out).
It needs be said: Although many people call Hoffs their lead singer, The Bangles DO NOT HAVE A LEAD SINGER. All four girls took their turn singing lead vocals, with the lead voice changing from song to song. It was the label trying to push Hoffs as the "face" of the band that contributed to their breakup in the first place.
Ohmuhgawd, you look gorgeous today. 🖤🖤🖤
Like I have said before, you ALWAYS look beautiful but it's just "extra" today.
You have to check out their most popular hit, Walk Like An Egyptian, along with Manic Monday.
ОтветитьOther all-girl bands of the 80s would include Bananarama and The Go-Gos (fronted by Belinda Carlisle).
ОтветитьMy favorite Bangle is the brunette guitarist, Susanna Hoffs.
I tried getting an eyeful of her, but to be honest, there was another gorgeous brunette I could not take my eyes off of, lol. 🖤🖤🖤 😁😉
If I'm not mistaken it was a state law that if you were a teenage boy you need to have a huge crush on Susanna hoffs which I did In a very big way
ОтветитьGlad you liked the song! Don't blame the band for it being short, it is a cover of Simon and Garfunkel (pretty sure Paul Simon wrote it). It's worth listening to the original for comparison.
I don't know why you used past tense when asking about a crush. Susanna Hoffs (brunette on guitar) remains the one for me ❤.
I love your musical journey
ОтветитьThe Bangles big breakout song was "Walk like an Egyptian", but had a few other big hits like "Manic Monday", and "In your Room". I think you will enjoy them.
ОтветитьI think they did a great job of 80s-izing this famous Sixties song. The Bangles were in a brief era of girl bands, along with Bananarama and the Go-Gos.
ОтветитьAnd juat like that you've react to your second Simon and Gartfukel song 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You can listen to the little bit melo OG from Simon and Garfukel or the one on amphetamine by Bodyjar
You are so damn cute in your reactions, Biss!!! That's all I wanted to say.
ОтветитьNot the blondes sorry! Just about every guy in the 80s, including myself, had a crush on Susanna Hoffs. She is the brunette playing the Rickenbacker guitar. She also sang lead on most of their hits. She is 66 years old now and just as beautiful as she was then. This was a cover by the way of a Simon & Garfunkel song. They do a great version of it as well. They had another big hit with a song written by Prince called Manic Monday… definitely worth reacting to. If She Knew What She Wants is another great song of theirs.
ОтветитьThis is a cover of Simon and Garfunkel they did it way better
ОтветитьI had crushes on all of the Bangles in the 1980s, but my biggest crush was on bassist Micki Steele! I got to meet all of the Bangles and they are all incredibly nice people, which is great when you meet your musical heroes.
ОтветитьYou would like their song Eternal Flame
ОтветитьEternal Flame should be next
