“The New Breed” Quinn Martin productions never changed all the way thru to “Streets of San Francisco” which I think was one of the last.
ОтветитьWow, I was quite the tv addict as a kid, but I only recognized a few of them. The only ones we watched were The Defernders and The Lieutenant. The Lieutenant was a pretty darn good show as I recall.
ОтветитьI'm surprised ME - TV is not playing East Side / West Side
ОтветитьI thought this video was about 'TV THEMES INTROS'! Anyway most of them were absolute rubbish I.M.H.O. Based on big jazz band scales with hardly any melody.People like MUSIC not this crap.
ОтветитьFor reasons I won't go into the intro to Follow The Sun will always have a very special place in my heart.
Ответитьthanks a lot,that was killer
ОтветитьThe Lieutenant is on DVD. Good show.
ОтветитьAnother magnificent collection of intros! Nothing can't be compared with the magic, charm and elegance of the '60s tv!
ОтветитьI thought that was Dwayne Hickman not Gary Lockwood!
ОтветитьDon't remember any of this except Mr. Novak, The Defenders and neither of the tunes. I was a teen in the mid-1960s. This was syrupy post World War II just before everything started: Vietnam War, race riots, drugs, sexual liberation, hijacking, hostages...the unreal stark world we have now!
ОтветитьI'm from Australia and alot of these shows never made these shores except Destry. However it was interesting to see how many of the actors went onto great careers e.g. Wayne Rogers and Jack Lord. These shows were full of talent with a capital T not like the one hit wonders gracing our screen today. This was real talent. The talent today, if they make a name for themselves they are soon dead through drug use. No real loss there.
ОтветитьI think my love of old movies started with "Hollywood and the Stars" narrated by Joseph Cotton. A bio every week of one of the great stars. :-)
ОтветитьInteresting seeing weird whites from last century.
ОтветитьI have never heard any of these shows before.
ОтветитьEast Side West Side was easily 15 years ahead of its time.
ОтветитьMy parents were not big TV watchers so we never were exposed to most of these shows. I used to leave my bedroom door open slightly so I could listen after I went to bed.
ОтветитьI'd buy a DVD of "The Great Adventure" in a heartbeat. At this point TV still believed in its responsibilty to do fine things for thinking people at least occasionally.
ОтветитьSurely you cant include The Defenders: 35 greatest show of all time : TV Guide, 25 greatest show of all time: People, Star, And Rolling Stone and Vibe. Wow this is impressive.
ОтветитьLiked 'Nat.l. Velvet' intro. Hope it ran at least 1 season.
ОтветитьLoved it
ОтветитьI would enjoy seeing some of those "Richard Boone Show" and "Chrysler Theatre" episodes.
ОтветитьCame here for inspiration for music research. Not disappointed, this music is awesome.
Ответитьit's 1am rn and i'm watching this, i'm 14. i love this stuff
ОтветитьMerry Christmas memory
Ответитьpick out the murderer
ОтветитьI watched a LOT of television in the 1960's and I had never heard of half of these shows. Don't know how I missed so many of them. In northern NJ, we received TV tranmission from NYC and we got 7 VHF channels.
ОтветитьWhat I find most amazing about this is the number of familiar actors from more popular shows and movies!
ОтветитьWow. I haven" seen ANY of these shows!
ОтветитьGary Lockwood was also in "follow the sun...lieutenant...2001...star trek...
ОтветитьGeorge C Scott...no place to hide
ОтветитьLee j Cobb
ОтветитьLloyd bridges and Paladin Boone both had their own shows.
ОтветитьWilliam Bendix...life of Riley
ОтветитьProfiles in courage...jfk
ОтветитьSame music fits all these shows...jingoism
ОтветитьA "heavy" cold war time.
ОтветитьPropaganized into wars and now a pandemic!
ОтветитьLA...Dragnet type shows...Robert Redford..Anne Francis
ОтветитьWow. Did the producers ever overdo it in the early 60s! Thanks for the video.
Ответитьsome stars before they were stars,,,,,,some already big stars.......some we never heard from again....LOL
ОтветитьMy Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic
ОтветитьConsidering I'm 68 now and grew-up watching anything/everything on TV...it's amazing how many shows I don't remember at all, like 'Target' and several others*
( *I liked an obscure show called 'Cannonball' and why I'm not sure other than the theme
sounded 'tough & cool' and the scripts were easy* )
I watched even more complex and sophisticated shows and have no clue why or how an 8-9-10yr. old average American boy would like such complex material w/adult themes
_________
I was enthralled by the first year of 'Lost In Space'...then the 2nd. season started and I thought 'what is this cartoon-y crap going on now?' 'IT'S STUPID!'
_________
I think I might be the only one in America that has NEVER seen a complete episode of 'CSI' and all the variations...I watched one episode the first year for maybe a half-hour and lost interest in it!
Go figure
I knew Quinn Martin would show up in this compilation.
ОтветитьWow, this was great, thank you.
ОтветитьNational Velvet starring Lori Martin. She was cast as Gregory Peck's daughter in Cape Fear(1962).
ОтветитьCaught a young and handsome ROBERT BLAKE as "ONE OF THE PLAYERS" OF "The Richard Boone Show". My folks loved watching "The Dick Powell Show" and "Hollywood and The Stars" . I also caught an even younger Ryan O'Neal in "Empire" from 1962 before he made it big in 1964 with "Peyton Place".
ОтветитьBack when tv was truly worth watching. Even some of the stinkers surpass the crud that's on today. I watched most of these as a teenager. The Defenders, Great Adventure, and East Side, West Side were some favorites. George C. Scott in ESWS was really ahead of its time. Great memories.
