Best Video EVER!!!
ОтветитьI think jb is more versatile but 78 is more of af Frankie/EVH Style
ОтветитьTelecaster... lol... this is one of the best videos I have seen in years!
Ответитьthey sound the same
ОтветитьIsn't versatile a nice way of saying bland?...
ОтветитьIs that even a word versataler
ОтветитьActually I prefer the Alternative 8 trembucker bridge and the 78 NECK in my Strat.
ОтветитьI didn't like the 78 in my Les Paul The JB was better but still not to my liking. I did however settle on the the Seymour Duncan Warren DeMartini RTM. I also put one in my Kramer. It's a very hot pup with an alinco 2. My other Les pauls have SD alternative 8 pups in the bridge.
ОтветитьTales rock. And learn how to speak English. Asshole
ОтветитьWell, if “versitler” means sounding closer to Eddie, then the 78 is made for you.
ОтветитьHey Brother I Just Ordered The 78 Seymour Duncan From Seymour Thanks Definitely Amazing Pickup An Definitely Some Awesome VH Playing An Tone
ОтветитьThe only other thing I know that’s this versatile is two and one shampoo + conditioner!!! Were living in the best times
ОтветитьGuitarists can't say "I want lower gain" because that's uncool. So they say "I need something more versatile."
ОтветитьLove the tongue-in-cheekness of your comments! 78 times more fun!
The pickup wasnt too bad, either.
I like the JB because it sounds good dirty and clean - i do love a darkish clean sound from the bridge pickup - and it splits well with a typical single coil. The custom custom gets my vote for versatility. I think your friend EVH would have loved it because it can roar and brown out :) But it's all very subjective.
ОтветитьBy versatiler... do you mean only EVH distortion tones? How 'bout some clean tones, different genres etc.
ОтветитьI don´t understand why the 78 is 78 times better when the JB is just better.
ОтветитьJB more bass
78 more mids
HSH for versatility?
ОтветитьI think he just needs something to play EVH. I have a couple Seymour Duncans in my old Epiphone which brought it back to life. I think i have a 59 neck and custom bridge setup. I suck so i am not that particular. One day i will try the hot rodded set in another guitar just to compare.
ОтветитьIf you go on the Seymour Duncan forum, you will find lots of people agreeing the JB is not very versatile, but the 78 is the most versatile.
ОтветитьI want to try a distortion in the Bridge 78 in the neck. That would nuclear! I'm getting2 pre McCarty one I'm leaving stock and one I'm going to mod with those.
ОтветитьNice. A little more high end.😊
ОтветитьLooking for diversity but plays only VH tunes 😂
ОтветитьLike your channel but those pickups are apples and oranges. 78 has PAF output, whereas JB is designed for a much heaver sound. It's like comparing a classic durable pickup with a Tesla. It depends on what you want.
ОтветитьAlnico 2 for the win
ОтветитьVersalicious
ОтветитьI'm missing the part where the 78 is versatile?
All I heard was Van Halen.
Versa - Tiller … lol 😂 Great vid! I like the ‘78 👍
ОтветитьVersatile,
ОтветитьWow sounds a lot more open great demonstration 👍
Ответить78 sounds fatter without losing highs or mids
ОтветитьMight want to grab a 1969 vintage Electro Harmonix Versatilizer 9000. I bet you’re thinking what I’m thinking… 🤔
That’s 9000 times more versatilification!!!
Aaron, I’m building a Warmoth HSS strat with a Warmoth neck. What single coils would pare up the best with the 78? Would SD quarter pounders be the ticket? I’m most influenced by EVH, Lynch, Nuno and DiMartini. I love Nuno’s percussive approach.
ОтветитьCompare it to a Custom Custom.
ОтветитьLove the Tele shoutout, hahahahaha.
ОтветитьTeles are way more versatile than a lot of players think.
Ответитьboth sound good, i prefer the JB , they are different... no 78 s times versatile, just different .... its a matter of taste ...
ОтветитьI have more questions than answers, thank you so much!
ОтветитьAm I the only one who didn't find either pickup to sound particularly inspiring here or hear a substantial difference in the tone? I mean, yeah, the '78 sounded a tad more dynamic and clear, but not a huge difference IMO.
ОтветитьDoes it go to 78?
ОтветитьYour a madman
Great vid enjoyed the Ed display 🪄
The story behind the '78 name is that EVH approached Seymour Duncan to have him make a custom humbucker for him in 1978.
ОтветитьI think a Gibson ES 175 (single P90 at the neck) is less versatile than the telecaster. Talking solidbodies, I think a Esquire or a LP jr are also less versatile
ОтветитьVersatility is subjective
ОтветитьNever heard anything VERSATILER! ;-D
ОтветитьVersatile?
My side band is a bluegrass/hippy shit band and i get funny looks ripping bluegrass and flatpicking on a jackson rr1.
I use blues saraceno parallel axis trembuckers with a coil split from Seymour Duncan. I can go from metal chunk to pristine clean twang with those pick-ups.
