I totally agree. The control of a Dewalt oscillator with the variable trigger vs Milwaukee and just the on off switch makes the Dewalt the better tool imo. But theres a tool for every job and use. Dewalt Milwaukee Makita Flex....theyre all absolutely amazing tools.

It's not a hack saw. It's a reciprocating saw. Don't make yourself sound stupid.

To add unless you have a ton of the same task to do in a row the difference in speed is negligible.

I have the competitor that beat the dewalts (ridgid) and they are extremely accurate and precise because of their triggers. A guy i work with has the dewalt ones and the ridgid are better, and cheaper.

Long time renovation contractor here. Never considered oscillation range. Always focused on rpm speed and batt life. Appreciate your perspective and efforts to convey!

Sounds like something someone with a short stroke length would say

Guys are out here bragging that their model goes .3 seconds faster into a board that goes to nothing being built, when they have no idea how to use a square or measure correcly.

same thing with impact drivers. some may drive a 12" ledgerlok a bit faster but lack any finesse. for me a versatile tool wins every time

You are exactly correct, those guys doing the comparison video's are getting paid by the companies and theres a few that are absolutely ridiculous ( tools from Sauls )

A lot of hackzals have 7/8" stroke which isn't always the best for the precision work some people might grab them for. This dewalt is a 5/8". Most full size sawzalls usually have 1"-1 1/4" which is obviously great for cutting fast but it also means that if you're trying to cut a fastener within that distance from a wall or ceiling then you might just be bouncing off and bending your blades. You can obviously tilt or angle your sawzall and try your best not to bounce or puncture anything but it's also nice to have the right tool for the job. When I need real heavy lifting done I always used my Metabo 36v. It has been a monster for years and I can't remember the last time I plugged in a sawzall.
