One thing I don't get...you can't play a game in the NES without pushing the cartridge down but you can't do that with a Game Genie. Why doesn't that stop the system from reading it?

Just scored a Camerica Game Genie for three bucks. As soon as I saw the Camerica logo, I almost instantly remembered this video (which I haven’t seen in YEARS) and what you said about it being a little harder to find than the Galoob version. Thanks, Norm from nearly 12 years ago! 😊

I remember the game genie that after that we had the game shark.

Got the Game Genie and the Super NES for Christmas of 1991 (yes, it was the best Christmas of my entire childhood). The first game I tested on it was Ninja Gaiden II. I couldn't believe that it really worked, that I could make myself invincible. I was so excited for this awesome little device.

I remember altering the high jump code for Mega Man 2 to be more and more extreme until you’d jump so high that you’d soft lock the game. Ah, those were the days. Now I have a mortgage and wanna high jump off a cliff.

my neighbor got the NES and SNES game genie. that was the only way i could finish some of the harder games. It was a great device.. not sure why nintendo got so upset about it. great memories from the late 80's and early 90's!

If you aren't afraid to damage the cosmetics of your game genie, you can take a razor blade and shave down the sides to get it to safely fit in the NES 2. The only thing keeping it from fitting is the thick plastic of the casing. You don't have to shave off much, but it does severely devalue the game genie once you do it. So, make sure you're not wanting that copy for collecting purposes.

Nintendo is so stupid don't they know if they make a game and sell it to people it isn't there's anymore to tell them what they can't do with it when we have full rights to there games they sold us. So we can do whatever we want with the games.

I used to hack batman and got all kinds of different stuff. Game Genie was my first foray into coding at 8 years old. Also congratulations on how long your channel has been around.

Game Genie was what made many NES enjoyable for me as a kid, because many of the games were super hard, at least for a kid. When I got older and better at games, I put the Game Genie aside of course, but it was a good way to ease games and not be overly frustrated by them.
