Just watched this for the first time on Prime. It has some decent actors, nice locations, but it’s not a very good film. It’s drawn out, there’s too many characters, none of which did I feel sympathetic towards. It’s essentially a propaganda piece for Israel.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always been quite sympathetic towards Israel, but when I’m reminded of the terrorism of the Irgun against the British, like the bombing of the King David Hotel, it just makes me sick. The British should have infiltrated all of the Irgun cells and eliminated them before giving up the mandate.

At 12:15am on Wednesday morning 5/3/23 I awakened humming This Place is Mine the song associated with Otto Preminger’s movie called Exodus. A great film starring Paul Newman, Eva Marie Saint, Sal Mineo, Lee J. Cobb etc., based on the Novel written by Leon Uris of same name!

Where’s was this city and country supposed to be located in ⁉️ where was exodus filmed ?

To tell you the truth, I much preferred this as Israel's National Anthem over the Hatikvah. It is a stronger song. However, it is hope that has delivered many a Jew out of peril including myself.

Horrible movie! And this scene is such a silly portrayal of what actually was created by Uris in the novel..they could've cut the novel since it would be ridiculous to contemplate doing the whole thing, but kept the spirit of Uris' work. The gravity and depth of the plot, history of the characters, and themes (one of which was Jew hatred by the Brits) puts this feeble effort to shame! In the novel this stupid cutesy scene didn't exist. Instead the British officer that Lawford plays is a rabid Jew hater..so much so that later in the novel the Stern gang takes him for a one way ride and they dump his body. And the character of General Sutherland played by Ralph Richardson was infinitely more colorful and complex as written by Uris. Except for the music and the scenery the movie is a complete flop.

Love to the proud brave and valiant people of Israel from India. Other than US and UK, my nation India also took good care of Jews and Holocaust survivors who came from from Poland and Austria after the end of WWII. Later they all went back to West Asia.

What America needs is a Quentin Tarantino remake of Exodus that ends with Winston Churchill and Ernest Bevin getting shot to death in a movie theater, and Prince Edward and Wallis Simpson getting swastikas carved into their foreheads.

So many superlatives in this trailer for such a wonderful movie - and yet - who hears of it now?
