ОтветитьGreat work and a pretty good result for the Forrester, considering the conditions. However, after seeing your recent test of the Bronco Sport, Subaru should add a locker rear similar to the Bronco Sport to the Wilderness editions. They surely could adapt the technology from the STI.
ОтветитьIt looks like the forester wants to lurch forward when you get out of a hole. Subaru would really improve the off road capability by putting in a transfer case! Even a small reduction like 50-75% would do wonders.

ОтветитьYou seem to put subaru through tougher tests than any other crossover. Why not put toyota rav 4 through the same wet muddy trail. Then we will get to know which is a better trail.

ОтветитьI've loved the value of Subaru my whole life, they do so well in all conditions for most people. But I'm having less faith in their engines more recently and losing interest in the CVT. With a 2017 Forester XT currently, I wish they kept the XT engine in the Wilderness like the Outback, would have maybe got me into one more Subaru.

ОтветитьFlawed test really. Most sane people would not take on a road such as this in rainy conditions, no matter the vehicle. It's as much a test of the tires as it is the car.

The x mode has always sucked compared to atrac also that CVT really is a killer with off-roading Not even close to ideal
ОтветитьI have had my Forister over the Alpine loop and Pouchkeepisi gulch in Colorado without a problem, also Black Bear Pass, no issues. Good off road tires and a 2" lift.

ОтветитьI love my FW - I got mine back in May 2022 and I take it off road quite a bit in BC (Canada) which has some pretty gnarly forest service roads. It's handled exceptionally well so far!

ОтветитьBetter with an auto or manual gearbox. CVT and offroading is a lot of straining / wear and tear on the vehicle .
ОтветитьTbh you can't make from shit a proper cake,car over rated and over priced the same like outback, inside trim level and quality that Korean cars from latest 90' and this awesome 4wd system..ok but nothing special...yes it was hard to watch
