Regarding your taxation analogy, you are forgetting one very important detail: globalisation. If you tax the rich to the point where it becomes more profitable for them to delocalize, they will. Or they will pay law firms to simply avoid paying taxes in the first place. Or they will lobby politicians to amend laws in their favors, etc. They can afford it. Thus you end up with less overall revenue to pay for all these social programs. Even if we had a worldwide tax rate, decison makers are still human and there will always be people ready to sell their ideals short for a briefcase full of ca$h. Redistribution via taxation is a bad idea, because you take money from those who had the intelligence of earning it and give it to people who never generated wealth in the first place, thus no one has any interest to do more with less.

MS pay Bill 2k$/month - we can tax it by idk 99%
MS pay dividents, so Bill gets 2m$, and its tax by 10%
But wait Bill is good person so he givs 0,2m$ to charity (Gates Fundation), and you can take this from taxes
Bill Gates fundation, owns and pay for Bill mansion, Bill food and all expenses (thats leegal)
Bo with 99% tax for rich Bill pays 100$ of taxes (meaby)

Solition:, tax assets, not work. You have two houses, you pay 5% nett worth of secount house every year

The tax issue problem you point out has two dimensions. The already established wealthy who would not be overly effected and those steadily increasing their wealth. These ppl would find it not worth going beyond a certain point, leaving the old guard rich to have control over the financial landscape. Flat tax no deductions or exemptions for everyone who is over 51% of the national income average simple effective. Everyone below 51% has a graduated level of tax burden commensurate to their income level.

Well tax brackets in the US only apply the % to whatever amount of moneys you make above that threshold, so if a billionaire gets taxed at 70%, it'd only be 70% on whatever they make above a certain dollar amount (like a half million a year or something) so your point of "the jobs are still the best paying ones" is even more true. There's no situation where moving up in a tax bracket means you net less money in the end purely due to taxes.

I'm still trying to wrap my head that Sensei is technically a top 200 mythic player but diamond rank. Insane in the membrane.

All this talk about tax brackets… 30 minutes in and I don’t hear anything about marginal tax rates! Everyone should always want to make more money, because higher rates only apply to amounts over particular income thresholds. Also, Twitter blue is a dumb product with a mostly dumb customer base. Good business decision, but dumb product.

Edit: Not to mention the fact that most billionaires and high millionaires make money off of capital gains or assets that they leverage for loans.
