Reminds me of the scene in the movie Brazil when government contractors go in to fix the thermostat and someone switches their ventilators and hooks them up to the sewer hose. Glad you guys got your proper PP and hope you have your proper papers. Crack on boys!

This was a great video. I need someone like you to help me in Australia. We have a few issues very similar to this video ... old unused septic tank, no manhole to roof cavity as is a flat roof, bamboo (that will be getting cut back tomorrow), plenty of overgrowth of other plants and a big wood stack. The rats are in my en-suite wall and so far nothing has worked consistently. I've put up with it for 3 years and I know previous owners had issues too. I really wish I could find someone invested in helping me to solve the problem once and for all and give me a rat free lifetime guarantee too..

“Not here to kill for killing sake” so true a word pest control is about control and management. As a country boy myself if you got fellow wildlife all is good if they don’t bother you then it’s live and let live. If they won’t move in and impact your livelihood or health then you need the extreme measures.

I just discovered mouse " blankets", 6 ft by 15". They can't jump them. I live in the
Mountains, we've had a horrible problem for a few years since we switched from using pine sol to swifter mop pads. I finally figured out they hate pine sol and the mouse blankets picked up 8 mice the first night. After the first week of catching a lot, its slowing down and seeing no new mouse feces. My house is 7800 sq. Ft, 3 stories so its been a nightmare. I think these are really made for barns, shops etc. They can be easily cut up into smaller pieces! Good luck!

We live in the city, in an ground level apartment, next to a rain pond and a little stream. It's a rat paradise. Our tomcat and the terriers keep the rodents away from the house we live in.

Rats and mice have always been my phobia and I am just about to purchase my first house (always lived up high in apartments prior) and am very conscious of this particular subject.
Also, something I will not be installing is garden decking. Although it can be both attractive and practical, it has got to be one of the biggest attractions for nesting rats/mice. Something I would not install for the sake of minimising the issue. Overall though, the ways you have shown in this video how they can enter the house from outside, it seems an impossible and endless task of totally eradicating them.

Catching a few rats in traps and filling in some holes and trackways did not in any way "solve" the rat problem at this property. Anyone who believes that this property is "rat free" is naive.

Dood I don't ffffffuuuuuccccckkkkk around with the rats. I feed the rats nice treats to get a feel of what they like on those unset traps for a week. All rat blooms like different shit to eat, then start pull the feed. They will get desperate and race to food on all traps put out. There will not be one trap without a rat. No need for poison. Then I take all 50 dead rats and feed them to the dirt for the garden. You should see my garden. No need for fertilizer.

Here's a trick I learned by accident for catching mice. We had chicken scratch feed in a metal trash can with a lid. One day after feeding I didn't push the metal lid down on the trashcan. The lid was on the can but one part had a small gap between the lid and the can. The can was almost empty with about 1/4 inch of feed completely covering the bottom inside of the trashcan. The next day I went to get feed out of the can and 4 mice were inside the can. It was the best mouse trap I ever had.

Wild bird feed is like crack to rats as that's their main diet and they also eat their own poo as its got something to do with their stomachs. Best thing is dry plaster and peanut butter and soon as they have a drink of water the plaster hardens it kills them from inside

I have been running a constant trapline for rats all over my property, for most of 10 years. I control any foods, any shelters, and still get constant mice and rats all the colder months. When the snakes wake up, the rat and mouse problem stops, except in the garden. As it gets cold, they're getting in again. Control outside and indoor trouble is less.

Why hasn't anyone figured on having the inlet pipe from the house into the cesspit a little higher than the outlet? So that when the outlet backs up to the cesspit and the rats swim in it, the pipe to the house is too high for the rats to reach. it only has to be at least 4, maybe 6 inches...

The septic tanks should have 'dropper pipes' in them on the inlet and outlet, and where you said that the drain was broken and allowing vermin in, was immediately below a fence post...

Ok, I'm at my wits end in rural America. My neighbor loves birds. So it begins...
She feeds the birds seeds of course, then salad, fruits, breads, everything top of the line. She could be feeding the homeless if she would let them in her backyard. I told her I had rodents and she said to me, "Oh dear, I guess you'll give me rats". #&#* I had to walk away, we live in the mountains with big fat rats who come off the mountain to be fed. I have been doing exclusion work for 3 years and I am still not done. I'm no young spring chicken anymore and it's just me. I have practically rebuilt this house since I moved here 12 years ago. I lived in a large city for 50 years and I have never seen anything like this in my life. I have the A24 traps, humane traps, poison I have prepped for winter setting in as they use my house for lodging and go elsewhere to eat, and I know where.

I know this will horrify most people, but I caught over 200 rats in 2 years with a plastic storage box, I trapped them in an area with bait, then ran after them and slammed box on top of them. Only accidentally killed a handful by breaking their neck, spine slamming box on top of them. Then released them in middle of nowhere. Very time consuming, but killing of anything is the absolute last resort for me. It's all nature, no matter what form it takes. I am not having a go at this man in the video, he is doing his job. But if you hate killing so much maybe a change of job is needed, let someone who doesn't care do it. There are a million other jobs he could do. Go with what your heart is telling you, that's what the horrible feeling is every time you kill one. Your heart is saying this is wrong. That is the real you...🧡🐷🕊️🦋🌲🐁

In amsterdam we have underground containers every 50 to 100 meters in the street where everyone can dispose of his garbage 24-7 there are some rats, because they allso dive for mussels in the canals etc, never seen a rat inside my house. When walking at 5 in the morning you see a rat washing itself by the side of the canal and I think them kind of cute.
