ОтветитьBought the full video...not super impressed. Was expecting a part by part rebuild instructions for a complete rebuild beginner like myself. Some of it wasn't even a Honda. Didn't show installation of all seals, how they go, thrust washers, transmission tear down etc. You still definitely need a service manual with this video as well as a general understanding of how/where things go.

ОтветитьI haven't had any issues with my bottom end and no signs of wear, but I want to replace my crankshaft (and the associated bearings) as preventative maintenance. Is it possible to split the case without removing all these components? I am assuming I will have to pull the engine out.
ОтветитьI have a friend who on a 13 rmz250 just bored out too 270 not even 10 hours on new piston and gears are locked and there's no compression when kicked... push started it and metal clinking nosies came from the engine so shut it off.. guy said that he way overfill the oil on it before hand

Ответитьhello my friend congratulations for your video, i am brazilian i have a 2008 crf 250r, i have the following problem: When I run at high engine speeds she throws a lot of gear oil out of the gasp, why does this happen since the engine has 2 separate crankshafts, can you help me? Thanks

ОтветитьI had the same thing happen to me. The lower connecting rod bearing went out on my 2008 crf250r. Metal shavings were all up in my oil filter..... I ended up buying the whole video from him. I highly recommend it. I know it sucks paying for a video, but think about it in comparison to the cost of a full rebuild. The money you spend by buying his video to do the rebuild yourself saves you 10x+ over in the money you would have spent by paying a mechanic to do it for you. His video goes over everything in depth. I am forever thankful for content like this on the internet. Thank you, Matthew!!!
ОтветитьSo I’ve been building a kx250f for a few years I bought a frame new cases and so on and etc and as time passed I missed riding so I thought let me not rush the Kawasaki build because it is my pride and joy a lot of unobtanium on it that I scored on auctions over the years and want to take my time building it ....so I buy a used 2014 crf250r and the bottom end locked up 20 mins into my ride ....my buddy had to ride back pick up my van just an overall nightmare and I should know better we all think it won’t happen and I’ve got lucky a couple times but it ran out so I’m dropping it off Tomorrow to have it redone by a local shop because I do not have the space to do 2 at once it would be awesome to have a double paddock type of setup but hey we can dream....what I’m telling you is ....don’t give up ....keep pushing even when everything is going against you push harder and you will overcome

ОтветитьMatt I have question I'm hoping you can answer. I'm rebuilding a 05 crf250x and I'm not sure about something. When I stab the Tranny shafts through I'm left with a small amount of play<1mm in the starter gear on the other side. Is that normal? From what I can see the only way to make it for more snug is too add another thrust washer to the shaft before stabbing through or adding one at the end of the shaft before adding the circlip. The tranny gears line up flush. I bought this in parts so I'm going in blind. Thanks in advance. Tom

ОтветитьThese are really well built motors. Simple enough that beginners can do a full rebuild. I'll never understand why Honda didn't do something about the auto decompression noise. I cant stand it.

Ответитьhey thanks for posting this. my son and i have a 2005 CRF250R that needs a top end and bottom end and now looks like a new clutch as well and i'm wondering if you think it might be better to sell off for parts or if you think its still worth rebuilding. We traded a busted quad to get this bike so we've put approx $1800 Canadian dollars into it and the price tag for all the new parts is getting close to $3600. I know the bike isn't worth that much money if we were to buy it in working condition but i think it would be something we could work on together and ride it for years to come as long as we maintained it. What do you think?
