The Leatherman Wave VS The Free P4.....Before You Buy One Watch.

l would pass on both of them to be honest. The main tool for me would be the knife blade. While its convenient having so many tools on me, l don’t want to resharpen my knife after every use.

The biggest complaint from customers and friends is that the pliers are not aligned. Leathermans warranty service is decent but, they just replace tool with a new one. And don’t expect to see a big difference with the alignment.

I agree that the Wave+ rules. I consider the Free line as a marketing gimmick. The Wave + is only $130 at Cabelas. I still like the Juice CS4 for its size, though.

Free p4 /p2 certainly leaves something to be desired for the assortment of tools ... But .... IT IS THE LEATHERMAN WITH THE HIGHEST MANUFACTURING QUALITY AND LONGEST. It is the highest quality multitool on the market. FOR the first time ever, leatherman surpassed victorinox in precision and build quality. It is my first multitool where there is no kind of play at any point. Everything is perfectly solid and perfectly symmetrical.
The quality manufacturing between wave/surge or rebar /supertool and free series is uncomparable.
Free series is a lot better in terms of quality and finish.
