The most romantic Car Brand ever - owned one and I love every bit of it.
ОтветитьBusso un nome e una leggenda ha progettato il migliore V6 al mondo e noi tutti gli siamo grati Ha fatto nascere la leggenda del violino di Arese
ОтветитьIn Italy the 6 cylinders engines had never had a great success: very expensive because of too high taxes. The only exception was Alfa 156.
For this high category, Italians preferred by far Mercedes or BMW: also their image in Italy was more sexy then Alfa's or Fiat's
The Busso V6, one of the best engines in the world
ОтветитьWell done video.
Classy designer and motor 👌
absolute beast of an engine
ОтветитьCiao Matteo, bellissimi i video che stai facendo qui. Saluti Brian
ОтветитьI have owned a number of Busso equipped cars, none more glorious than the 75 Veloce, a car I miss every day. Thanks for another fabulous video, I’m like a child in a sweet shop, having just discovered your channel!
ОтветитьI had a GTV coupe with a turbo V6 bought new in 1996. Great car, until someone set it on fire one night in 1998, in downtown Amsterdam ...
ОтветитьI had an Alfa GTV in the UK - but it had the classic 4 cylinder rwin cam. Lovely car, beautiful style, but it was the rust. Lost a lot of money. Still I do hope they come back to the UK - especially the Lancias, without the Russian Steel ! Modern cars have such poor, ugly styling. The italian styling was the best. But there was one thing even better : the girls in Italy !! I twice had "Colpo di fulmine" when I worked there in Milan. Thanks for the history.
ОтветитьOne of the most beautiful sounding motor. As a South African Italian I'm proud of my heritage. VIVA ITALIA
ОтветитьWhen I lift a bonnet on a car today all I see is plastic covers,Why cant we have a proper engine on view like Alfa Romeos of yesteryear?
ОтветитьI have two Milano cars one with a 3 liter and the other with a 2.5 liter engine.
ОтветитьI just adore the Alfa 6 ,she reminds me of the Alfetta 1800 but more refined
ОтветитьI have just spent over 1.000 usd in maintenance for a 3.0 Alfa 166, in a country where qualified labour is only 4 dollars per hour. Now the only things that aren't perfect in the care are:
-One of the rear speakers isn't working
-The transmission needs some work (could be anything from 100 to 700 usd)
-A couple of missing buttons from the console
-Missing trim piece from front light
The engine has over 200k km and it is in better shape than your typical 1.5L i4 hatch with 1/2 the km.
What a funny clean accent
ОтветитьPoesia e Violino Busso Forever 👌👌🐳🐳
ОтветитьI have a Peugeot 3.0 V6 and while it is a strong and extremely smooth engine it can't match the glorious sound of the 'Busso' - how I wish it did!
Ответитьi had a 166 with 3.0 24v v6 engine a real simphony an extraordinari engine and in the road had no rivals i think that this v6 engine maybe the best in your size
ОтветитьSemplicemente un opera d'arte V6 2.5 motore morbido ed equilibrato 👍
ОтветитьIts an amazing engine! Nice video
ОтветитьItalian everyday cars always had a character and a lovely engine sound: even the little Fiats. Now they are boring as hell. I think this engine sounds even better than the current twin turbo V6.
ОтветитьThe biggest mistake Alfa ever made is decision to not marry 3,2 L V6 Busso with Brera.
Ответитьproud to say i owned a Allfa 75 QV 3.0 America in Black and a 164 3.0 V6 24V , wish i never sold the Alfa 75
today i drive a 159 2.4 jtd SW, but damn how i miss my old V6
The best engine on Alfa Romeo îs 2.4 jtd from 156 TI
ОтветитьI really enjoyed this video being narrated by Italian.
ОтветитьAm I the only on who shared a tear at the end?
Ответитьalfa romeo is a virus that not all the people understand it... it pure love from the first engine start!!!
ОтветитьGreat video
ОтветитьYou perhaps might have mentioned the private sector derivatives of this engine. The 2.8 gleich , and the 3.3, 3.5 from Glenwood and autodelta Uk. And last the 3.7 autodelta Uk Version of the gta engine.
Also the story that cosworth was interested in taking up production from alfa
Thank you so much Roadster Life for your nicely made informative contribution and tribute to the (on my opinion) best V6 ever made.
I have been to the Busso anniversary in Arese in Capannone 5 (Meccanica e Collaudo motori) right before the facility was removed to make the car park for the expo. A sad day indeed, discussing with Elvira Ruocco, the sons of Satta Puliga and Busso, many former engineers and workers of 'La Fabbrica'.
I own one 156 SW 2.5 V6 Facelift (2005) and wanted to buy a new Giulia Veloce 280 bhp Q4.
After a test drive with this fantastic Giulia - despite the automatic gear and no possibility to switch off the little helpers for a more sporty drive experience - I sat into my 156 and turned on the Busso again and ....wow, I feel like the first day I bought it.
Question to you as a specialist, but also open to the audience:
Will the 156 SW 2.5 V6 Facelift (2005) Busso become a youngtimer and eventually a classic?
Pro's: we know them all // Con's: too many produced, FWD, ....
I hope to see some replies.
English very much "spaghettizzatto",capisce?
ОтветитьBach.. Mozart.. Haydn.. Beethoven.. Giuseppe Busso..
ОтветитьI had two 164s, loved them both. The second was a 24 valve automatic and definitely edges it for me. It boasted a 'sports' button setting which, when pressed, kept the revs climbing in each gear until the red line. I used to love overtaking Jaguars and BMs in it. Once, on a relatively quiet motorway, a big Merc' wouldn't get of my way...until at about125mph - and climbing - he could see I wasn't going to stop and his nerve gave way and I sailed past! Of course, I was young and foolish in those days. But what days! 😎
ОтветитьAn engine to be built a car around...
ОтветитьYes they sound great but I’m less impressed with development or fuel consumption over the years. Neither have been particularly good considering the time in production.
ОтветитьGreat story. And a cool concept to revolve a video around a specific engine!
ОтветитьWe love the busso
Ответитьmy uncle had a 147 GTA and there is nothing that can compare to that engine.
The character, the sound and the feel.
No other engine can can even come close to the great Busso
I’m wondering, which is the best sound between the Busso and this narrators ramblings...Bellissimo! I own the 3.2 GT version...
ОтветитьFantastic story really interesting thank you
ОтветитьThis engine is a work of art! Visually stunning, no cheap and nasty covers needed to cloak its beauty like a modern engine. But the thrill comes from the noise it makes, from light throttle through to full bore acceleration it is always stirring your soul. Drove an 156 and then 166 with the Busso 24v engine as a daily driver for 15 years. Never used any oil, just delivered its power and orchestra of sound day after day without tiring. I think I need to find another for Sunday drives....
💓
super video. Thanks
ОтветитьYou forgot to mention the 3.2 24 valve was also fitted to the 147 GTA.
My dream project to install the Q4 transmission, tunnel, etc to a 147 GTA or a GT V6
I also always wanted to see to install a 3.2 24 valver to the Alfetta GTV6
Alfa forever. Owned 75 1.6, 75 1.8 turbo evolutione number 142 of 1000, 155 2.5 v6, 155 2.0 turbo QV, 164 3.0, 166 2.5, spider 2.0 and gtv 2.0 v6 turbo. 75 is my favourite so far, someday maybe i will buy my dream - alfa montreal.
ОтветитьI owned a GT with the 3.2 - one of the last cars with a Busso engine.
Hands down the best thing I have ever owned. It made music even at idle or part throttle, and it roared when you pressed the pedal into the stop.
I'm proud to say I've opened 3 Alfa's...147 (1.6), then the wonderful GT 3.2 V6... Bought in 2005, 20 spoke alloys, Bose sound system, red of course with an Autodelta conversion. I owned it for 3 years before selling it...I wish I still had it, but we moved house and it got keyed several times. I then bought a MiTo (1.4 turbo...120bhp Veloce), owned it for 10+ years before selling it earlier this year. I wish I had the desire to buy a 4C and do a Zender conversion/body kit...(dream on)...
ОтветитьGreat video on my favourite engine! Many thanks for making this! 👍🏻
ОтветитьWow again your work inspiring me to get a 3.0 v6 in a 164 prime condition only down side is the automatic transmission but still a gem :) thank you again keep up the wonderful work . Maybe a video on the lancia 037 this is such and unique amazing car this video would fill my heart with joy :)
