Very good conference but I doubt many people will follow those rules and thinking. Having the money we need to live is freedom. Having debts is working for others. Having a credit card is like walking on the edge of a cliff. The more you ow money, the more you have chance to fall from the cliff. Lack of discipline and the appel of consumerism. I am watching it just now for my college academic skills in English course in college. What she said is so true. It is so important that we are taught earlier on about budgeting and financial literacy because as of now my family is experiencing the paycheck to paycheck thing. I really got a lot of important things so thank you.

When are we going to stop say personal finances is not taught in schools and colleges and start doing. The primary objective of good to school and college is to earn a money.

A really good video, these show why personal finance is very important. Saving is just a tool it don't get you wealthy, you need to invest savings into cash generating portfolio that will work towards wealth creation. Like owning a well diversified portfolio which includes stocks, forex and crypto mining.

The solution to all of this is to not study English or potato decorating and left handed puppetry.

Being Frugal is not being Cheap. Being Frugal can be viewed as being as efficient with your resources as possible. You can' waste your hard earned dollars on Booze and hookers, or save it for down payment on a home, or for an experience that will improve your life. You can choose to use money for a home gym that and healthy foods that will make you live healthier and longer, or you can waste it on gadgets and fancy cars.

I've always thought these principles of personal finance should be 2nd nature, common sense. I didn't even have to learn it from school or from someone else. Just learning from watching people around you. Their mistakes, don't repeat them. I entered university in 1996, even in my 20's I had several thousand dollars saved, and zero debt. I went to University on scholarship that covered my tuition. The room and board, was paid off with work study, and other grants. I graduated in 2001 with engineering degree and zero debt. a couple thousand in my bank account, and then I landed my first corporate job. couple decades later, I'm close to my financial goals of becoming independently wealthy.

If they paid people enough this wouldn’t be an issue.

I disagree with one thing, the credit score. The truth is, you never need a credit score. Debt is always bad.

Pay off all debt, call and cancel your card(s) then cut them up. Pay cash, don’t have enough, save for it and get it later.
Live like no one else, so later you can live like no one else.

Why do we need expensive personal finance advisor ? since money management should be a common sense and common skill that we if just have mindful spending habit and calculator to plan, then we can do by ourselves.

Consumer debt is bad. Smart debt can build wealth.

I like her enthusiasm. It’s cute that she thinks she is offering insight. Nothing new for anyone who can use excel or an hp calculator and understands TVM. I’ll offer her some insight: #5 should be #1. Paying your future self first forces the others on the list to happen. For the 90% of people living above their means, well they know it and don’t care.
