Good info!
ОтветитьGood info as always Jack. Appreciate you doing all the research for us 😊 My wife chimed in from the other room ‘is that Tom hanks talking?’ 😂
ОтветитьWhat is a good average price for a piglet for feeding out looking for 2? Thankyou
ОтветитьEnjoyed that. Got a smallholding in the UK, including a Berkshire family. I hear what you say about socialising. Spot on. Sit on a stool with the mother, scratching her back regularly. Means the piglets are not afraid of me, chew my boots,(!) happy to be stroked so I can notice any lumps and bumps before they become an issue. Take care and a Happy New Year to you all.
ОтветитьThanks for the info Jack!
ОтветитьHave you asked the farmer if he has recommendations for a new breeder?
ОтветитьWe finished our first year with raising feeders, Tamworths. Were hard to find around me, ended up having to drive 2 hours to get them, one breeder was selling them for $85 and another wanted $200. Best pork chops I’ve ever had from my pigs.
ОтветитьThis was the exact video I needed right now! 🤘 awesome info!
ОтветитьThanks, Jack, I didn't know some of those things. I can't do pigs this year, maybe never, but its still on my radar and this is useful information. I'm curious, with your trusted pig guy retiring, are you considering buying breeding stock yourself? The number of pigs you raise each year, seems like that might be the easier way to be sure you have reliably good stock. Of course, that would mean feeding and housing your breeding stock year round.
ОтветитьThanks for the advice, was just checking out prices locally for some hoglets
ОтветитьWonder if it's possible to have pet mini pig like we do and still be able to eat Their babies I'm having a hard time coming to terms with it but I love bacon and pork chops
ОтветитьHello Emma’s Papa as my Grandbabies call you, LOL
We enjoy watching your videos. We live in the suburbs so we cant have pigs, but that doesn’t mean we can’t learn more about animals especially ones we eat as meat. When the grandbabies and I watch your videos, I like how you explain different information.
Many of the points you made are good for other animals also.
Good video topic. Another You Tubber I watch brought up some interesting questions and I thought I’d share the link as between the two of you it would help others
Happy New Years
Great info thx for sharing
ОтветитьLove it. I got pigs on the wing. And on the brain for the forest.
ОтветитьHey as a fellow New Hampshirite I would love to hear where you end up finding your new stock!

ОтветитьThis is priceless info, sir! Thanks so much for sharing it so freely.
Take care and God Bless.
Hey, just wanted you to know that I appreciate your channel. You do things differently than I, and have some different ideas, but still you're inspiring to the homestead community.

If so how long do you finish before you have them processed?

ОтветитьThank you so much very informative my brother and I are going to be getting feeder pigs March 2023 thank you so much love Mama Z
ОтветитьThat was a very informative, great video! Thank you!
ОтветитьThis was very helpful to me. I’m planning on starting with two pigs in the spring and I’ve been working on clearing a 125‘ x 125‘ area for them in the woods. Next comes the fencing and everything else and lastly, the two pigs. Good checklist of what to look for in a healthy feeder pig. Thank you.
ОтветитьWhat's average price for feeder piglets
ОтветитьThank you!

ОтветитьI have a question…. I want feeder pigs and I want to breed two females. Then once there babies grow up I want to swap them out with two female babies and the process the mommas and start that cycle. Thoughts on that?
