And did you know they didn't write it? John Kongos wrote it as a political song for South African Apartheid in 1971. The only difference in the lyrics is the Twisting my Melons bit - Maybe that's a clue to Happy Mondays version being attributed to Palestine instead of South Africa? Both Apartheid States! And the Watermelon is used a symbol of resistance in palestine, making the representation of Watermelons political and an arrestable offence..CALL THE COPS Worth thinking about.... I know this format would be difficult. Having bands turn up to Elstree to perform one song in front of a live audience is going to be difficult, but I think it would be worth it. I think it would make ToTP an international show rather than a domestic show. Bands would still want to perform. It would be a 'thing' to be invited to perform.

It was a psychedelic music for our generation made by a slightly wiser generation, a bit older. But like i was 7 here. And growing up in rave central in Chicago Belmont/Clark i know how totally intelligent innovative new and old it was - the mondays style music. Then it stopped to make way for drum n bass here, but i would rather do mondays music as psychedelic and d&b as spiritual. I mean my high school classs was 01' and I was just a clothes whore and music freak digging the new up coming world, as a modern mod. It fizzled out - but its souls still dancing. Waiting for its audience.....

Believe it or not this track is a cover version.. still its a fantastic tune ..

The pianist is excellent I play piano competently my music tutor was an LRAM Mavis Kelly and very talented herself however after four year I stop having lessons and started buying sheet music and playing what I liked not what I was told to play sorry to brag but I feel keyboard players often go unnoticed such as Christine McVie😊😊❤
