Am I hearing you correctly??? Did you say you actually paid only $192 American dollars for an over-night Sleeper? On average, I pay about $700 for a Sleeper on Amtrak, and that is without a bathroom or shower in the room! I have to go to London to ride this train!

Looks comfortable and warm. Saving a night's cost of accommodation in London makes it very worthwhile with no hassles of airports either.

This ain't on the pricer end of the train ticket... trust me... trying to get any train from the london simply from the north east is going to cost you between £150-£230 easily

In 1985 I took an overnight train from London to Edenboughro (yeah, spelling) & it was nice and arrived very early in "E" ~ I could have spent longer sleeping had I known the train would sit there for hours. I don't believe the meals were included with my 'cabin.'

$192 is on the "pricier side" for train tickets? Was this before you had ever ridden Amtrak? The cheapest overnight on Amtrak with a private cabin is something like $1500 lol

We take this train when we visit the UK, normally we cannot wait to get out of London (Are you surprised, its like Chicago and Detroit) and get up to Scotland that we stay awake most hours on the train waiting for that Border. When we get there we know we have arrived in a friendly, safe and gorgeous country. Connor and Pamela From Nashua NH but live in NY.

Re shower cutting out - usually or it used to be that passengers were not to use the toilet when the train was not moving, in stations. Because the whatever dumped on the track in one place. So maybe the shower water supply worked better on the move?
