I’m currently going through the fiend arena in FFX2. Not even the rabites foot (luck+100) could save you from the chefs knife.
Also, I’ve already decided the big F that when trying to the blue magic ability “Cry of the Night.”
If you know, you know.
If you're playing FF12 in late game, do not be surprised if you get overhelmed by Vivians in Giruvegan. They have a souped-up version of Bad Breath (and I mean SOUPED UP; these things do about a dozen status ailments all at once to anyone that's in close range) as well as Time Requiem which can freeze the whole party in place. Do not, and I mean DO NOT, even think of fighting one without a healthy supply of Remedies and Chronos Tears.
Ответитьwhere is cactuar?!
ОтветитьDinosaur Using Meteor Ironic!
ОтветитьFor FF6, I have memories of Triangle Island right before running the Floating Continent.
ОтветитьThese are all pretty crazy encounters, but there's just something about dinosaurs casting Ultima that just hits differently lol
ОтветитьMy stepdad made me play through the final fantasy games and I met up with the warmachine but I bested it. It was a struggle but I managed to beat it my stepdad didn't warn me about it because he wanted to see what I would do in response to it.
ОтветитьI want a new ff game with random encounters! At least one for us old school gamers
ОтветитьIn FF6 Behemoth summons meteor starts invisible and you can find him before World of ruin.
ОтветитьTo fall back into FF8, I definitely hated fighting Ruby Dragons. With the right build, I could stomp through T-Rexaurs in succession, but the Ruby Dragon was almost as bad as the Malboro, and at least the big plant was still vulnerable to Odin, but Ruby Dragon wasn't, and while it did have strategies to beat, its Breath attack killed me more times than any other monster in that game. There were places where it could be a total random encounter, bur felt harder then many bosses.
ОтветитьPro tips on FF series always equipe all your characters with stats def.
Ответить1st FF experience, it was FF1 Nine Mindflayers, Nine Ice Wolves & Four Gas Dragons. Still to this day, they are a fun PAIN IN THE ASS group of monsters to go against. 🤣
ОтветитьIf it looks cute in finally fantasy game, Zelda or any games like them don't think there weak
ОтветитьI came for Jacknapes in FFV
ОтветитьTriple Red Dragon in FFIV was pretty rough the first few times before you out-level it.
ОтветитьThe Dinosaur Forest in FFVI is the best place to max-level your characters. Put the character you want to level into a solo party and give them a gem box and exp egg and go to vanish/doom combo town. You'll gain 2-3 levels every battle up until about level 50 or so. And make sure you give them an esper with a level-up bonus; Odin is especially useful since he's the only one that will give you a speed bonus - so don't turn him into Raiden right away.
ОтветитьThe Marlboro debuted in FF1. They were a river spawn
ОтветитьYou could make this entire list from the original final fantasy. Anyone who had never had to fight 6 sorcerers in the Ice Cave should be advised... You party will die
ОтветитьFighting the Brachiosaur was totally worth it after getting Celestriad, omg that item is so OP
ОтветитьIt's not a FF game, but remember playing Breath of Fire 3, and not having a memory card at the time. Was near end game and went to an area, where unknowingly went to an area with basically super bosses as random encounters. Was not happy about that at all.
Loved the game over all, but it had so many annoying little things that could screw you over. Like that, a main quest where you had to locate these creatures in a plant, where one was hidden behind a pillar so you can't see it. Or needing to "pray" aka stand still at this alter for a set period during the last dungeon to progress. All of course before everyone had the internet, and the game gave no clues at all.
Archaeoavis duo ff12.. anybody ?
ОтветитьBit late to the party, but Coeurls in FF2. They are a common enemy encountered in groups in Pandemonium, and they have a couple of nasty abilities, including a party wide paralysis that bypasses Ribbon.
But the really nasty thing that I think would qualify them for one of these lists is that FF2 has a bug that makes all on-hit effects land 100% of the time. Now Coeurls happen to have a chance to inflict death on their attacks. Except that chance is 100%. Every time a coeurl attacks, someone dies. This meant that getting ambushed by a group of them could spell an immediate game over before you even had a chance to act.
Drink every time he says “devilish” 😂
ОтветитьYou can stagger the mega tonberry in X-2. 3 thieves can stunlock it pretty easily, but really any regular attacks will do. Also, I would vote for the Shady Duo as the worst random encounter in X-2. They can ambush you with a literal Ultima cast doing 9999 to the whole party. The mushroom is a pain in the ass too with its cloud.
ОтветитьPhosphoric Ooze, FF13. You're never good enough. You have to be lucky. If I wanted that cheap bullshit, I'd pay money for a mobile game, because they're too stupid to understand what players want. Here? Besides all of 10 being out of hand (yes, 8 is easy when you get the drift), I hate this monster because of its Cheese Factor makes it a fucking Velveeta via thinking it's a cheese. I say that because this game is still the tits. FF13-2 is better, but the battles...oh the battles.
ОтветитьOMG dude LMAO do you beat women when you get frustrated?
ОтветитьYou discuss the warmech in the original as if it was a surprise. I had the original, got it for my seventh birthday in 1988. The game came with two posters double sided. One was a world map with key and some general info on the reverse. The other was a complete monster list and item weapon armor and stat list. And it was complete. Including the warmech. It didn't tell you where to find it, but you would encounter it for sure. Without ribbons for everyone, the sorcerers in the sky castle, which were super common, and even more so on the 4th and 5th floors, had instant death regular attacks. Not spells. Just sorcerer attacks so and so and instead of a damage number it simply said slain. So you had more than enough trips through there to find out about warmech. Furthermore, I submit the worst random encounter possible was the peninsula of power. If you stumble upon it when you first made your way to provoka in the very beginning of the game, you were fantastically screwed.
ОтветитьFf13-2 proto behemoth
ОтветитьRuby Dragon in FF8 can be a pretty unfortunate encounter. I've had my level 100 party completely destroyed by their Breath attack.
ОтветитьI don't know if they can be considered random encounters, but Supersoldier from Type-0 has to be up near the top of any list of hardest non-boss final fantasy encounters.
ОтветитьI hated Malboro in FF8, so much farming and grinding to combat the Bad Breath attack 🤦♂️😩
ОтветитьGreat video, man. Subscribed.
ОтветитьDecided to play Final Fantasy IX for the first time. Was leveling up pretty good on disc 4 and ran into 3 Yans. They spammed Comet on my entire party 6 times and killed all of them before I could even engage in the battle. Pissed me off so bad that I said fuck the game and deleted my game data. I’ll just watch the ending at this point 🤷🏿♂️ Moral of the story, save your game every time you level up fighting those unfair lil’ bastards.
ОтветитьFinal Fantasy 9 has some bs slow battle mechanics. Takes like 2 minutes for battles to load.
ОтветитьWait people fear exdeath soul in ff5? When I played ff5 the soul wasn't that hard to deal with yeah the insta death spell sucks but other than that it's not that hard to fight
ОтветитьIron giant in FF2 is ridiculously easy, the Couerls and Death Riders were far more tougher honestly
Ответитьfor me mini cactuar in every series. rekts you with needle and unkillable for me.
ОтветитьPersonally for Yan, I liked using Odin. At a high enough level (72 is the minimum level to overcome Yan's level) and with max ore in your inventory, you had better than even odds at killing them. Eventually it will be 91.75% for the Yan based on this formula ([Ore / 2] + Level + [Magic / 4] - Target Level) and knowing that without stat boosts, Dagger's magic stat at lvl 99 is 61.
ОтветитьOf all of the creative names for enemy attacks, "Knife" is the one you never want to see.
ОтветитьI remember first time encountering Tonberry in FF7. It was 70% as horrible as the newgrounds animations had hyped it up to be, which is pretty terrifying.
ОтветитьI love that FF1 has a rare but near certain party wipe encounter with mind flayers. Just a straight up middle finger. Especially for speedrunners lol
ОтветитьFuck yans I hate them more than malboros
Ответитьcould you imagine an ambush from a malboro, a tonberry, and a couple yans?
ОтветитьThey removed the cat nip strats? Noooo lol that was the best
ОтветитьOne I haven't seen mentioned here yet is cactuars. 10k needles caught me off guard and now I'm always wary of tiny unassuming monsters
ОтветитьPlaying FFX did like 3-4 hrs of grinding. Was destroying everything pretty easy so I didn't bother saving. Got that Marlboro ambush that confused my entire party and they ko'd themselves
ОтветитьFFXI Tonberries are horrible, the more you kill the more hate they get toward you then suddenly they start hitting like a mac truck. There is a quest you can do to clear your hate, but usually best to avoid fighting them altogether.
ОтветитьSmt nocturne is a pretty tough but balanced game. But you can get back attacked anytime which gaurantees a crit.
This at least gives a 50%, chance to die without a chance from early to mid game.
Mainly, the encounter in the underpass agaisnt 6 quetzalcoatl: they all have a move called stone bite which has a chance to turn you to stone. If it does youll die on the next hit.
They can also probably at least do 20-25% with their regular attack on the mc.
One thing about the Yan. If all 4 party members got snorted away it was treated as if you "ran" and you got sent back to the world map. You got a game over if let's say you had 3 members snorted away but your last member got downed.
ОтветитьProbably doesn't count but I remember running into grand dragon on disk one. I kept trying to battle them because I didn't realize they were lvl 60. I didn't have a strategy guide or the internet so I didn't know. Good times.
Ответить
