Personally, I'm fine with no comments. It is an entirely selfish thing. I don't look at them; I avoid the spoilers.
As far as moderation goes, it would lead to banned users. So crunchyroll makes less money. But they also need to pay the moderators. Who ultimately pays for it? The remaining users. I'd rather not pay for it.

The cancellation of reviews however. That is something that is inexcusable. A point I haven't heard since you brought it up.

Just pay moderators to moderate the comments. Crunchyroll always takes the laziest path that is the most anti-user/consumer way possible.

I'd rather they use AI translated subtitles. Preferably, subtitles that were created, verified, and supplied by the creators than have Crunchroll localizers, many of them were Funimation localizers before Funi was purchased by CR, do what they've been doing FOR YEARS!

Then again, if the creators were using AI to create subtitles that they were verifying themselves (to ensure correct translations and correct any mistakes), then there wouldn't be any need for Crunchroll, and I'd be ok with that.

For now, I still trust HiDive a lot more than I do CR.

The comments I've only seen on the phone app and most of the time they are just talking about a certain scene that was really cool or a character doing something awesome.

Comments on internet are the greatest source of BS of the whole world. This comment too is useless. Anyway I'm still downloading fansubbed animes on pirate sites who cares about crunchyroll and their "adapted" animes. I've been watching anime for more than 20 years and I don't know anything about the new "genders". People can be whatever they want I don't care, it's their life

The sad thing is: we have reached a certain stage of economy where you know if every single subscriber of crunchyroll would end their subscription because of the deleted comment section crunchyroll would still not change their mind to undo it, call it an error and begs their customers pardon. There are managers at work at most of the big entertainment companies who think they know better than their customers, what they should want, and it not of interest for the managers, what the customers really want. Because they think it is easier to find buyers for a worse but established product but lower costs, than to make a good or better product with higher costs and but (maybe) significant higher earnings and more satisfied customers.

I wonder if the main reason is when they stop streaming older shows and the comment section is just a bunch of people saying they have to turn to piracy.

I have had people try to argue with me that I am trans or gender fluid multiple times. Just because I'm a tomboy with a large bone structure I where a lot of mens clothes, it's rare for me to find sturdy well fitting affordable women's clothes that i like.

Edit: been told I was wrong about how I feel about myself, that I label myself wrong, tomboys aren't real, and they know more about me than I do.

I no longer have crunchyroll. The app they have more than once sometimes gets broken by "updates" you can't play any animae when that happens. So I also heard that they sell your data too. I don't trust crunchyroll and neither should you.

Comments were removed cause EU forces companies to regulate user generated content, in this case comments. And its cheaper to just remove them altogether rather than hire stuff and censor shit.

If you don't like their service then stop supporting them. If you don't like any of the available services then pirate the fuck out of everything and support the anime / series / movies / whatever you really like on an individual basis. If they don't change their tune and don't go broke because too many other people keep supporting them then so be it, at least you'll get to save a ton of money instead of burning it on a million different shitty subscriptions.

10% of your profit comes from selling product C. Supplying customers costs you 50% of what you make off of it. To save money you get rid of product C. Then wounder why profit is down when you are saving money.

I look for key things in review see if it has anything I don't like or love in it before deciding. Star/number ratings mean nothing to me.

I have to disagree with the rant about the knowledge of genders and sexualities being a "given" for anime watchers. Some of us just watched the shows and let people be people without doing extensive researcher on every group with varying trains of thought and taste.

i only still pay for crunchyroll so i can download anime, because the people around me especially school force me to go to places i dont want to so i download anime for not being stupidly bored at these places cuz there is no internet most of the times

i only own a cruchyroll sub because my wife likes to watch anime on the tv i exclusively uses pirated sites because its simply just better u have comments u got ratings and its free
