Nice tips becuz iam stain my deck...
ОтветитьLove your videos!!!
ОтветитьNice video. Contains in one simple video much of the info I’ve seen in other videos or just decided about throwing away brushes. We’re replacing dry rotted redwood in a house we recently bought with hardwood so this will be a tutorial for the rest of the crew (wife and daughter 😉).
Ответитьcan you spray stain, great crew you have to make it a easier process
Ответитьcan you prime treated deck boards before staining with a solid color stain
Ответитьwe have a walk under deck...top and underside need stain
ОтветитьWhat about prep?
New wood need to not only be dry, it needs proper cleaning and killing of any organics that are in the grain after being outside. If you don't prep, that stain isn't going to last, it will flake or peel.
We use Stain and Seal Experts from Nashville for our stains. No VOC, not flammable. All other stains on the market will flake or peel. This will not. Self leveling, no drip marks, no brush lines. You can stain in 100degree weather and its fine.
Great video thanks
ОтветитьWhat brand and color stain are you using?
ОтветитьHOW MOCH COST STAIN ONE DECK LIK THAT ONE ?
ОтветитьAny need to stain the under-side? Mine is second story. Also, any tips on protecting steel balusters on rails from accidentally getting stain on them?
ОтветитьI didn't use a rag that's why my deck came out blotchy and darker in spots. I can see my stop and go lines
ОтветитьWhat type or color is that?
ОтветитьWhy not use and airless sprayer?
ОтветитьUsing a roller applies way too much stain. Use of a stain pad allows you to control how much stain is applied, wasting far less stain and often making wiping the stain unnecessary. The object is to give the wood all the stain it can absorb, but no more. Oil stains have no chemical driers and any excess oil left on the surface will probably remain sticky forever, especially if it contains linseed oil.
A better method of applying is to only take a few boards and go the entire length of the deck. this avoids lap marks and that awkward stretching over wet stain. This is especially important if you are working by yourself.
If the deck builder used the deck screw as a deck spacer the gaps would be more consistent.
ОтветитьThrowing away perfectly good tools is such a disgusting waste
ОтветитьSeems like you've learned something since this video.
ОтветитьWhat is the color of this stain?
ОтветитьWe hired someone to stain ours and apparently they had no idea how to properly stain with Semi transparent. Brush strokes are all over. They didn’t use any towels at all to smooth it out. :(
ОтветитьDo you recommend or think I should steer clear of sanding pressure treated deck with course grit before staining it? It's newer brown treated wood, dried out a couple years. Finally getting time to stain it. Some people say not to sand it, won't look good. I will be using deck cleaner and pressure washing, waiting couple days to dry then sand, dust off and stain
ОтветитьGreat job, That's the way to do it to eliminate overlap marks.
ОтветитьJust throw everything away. What a sustainable practice!
ОтветитьHi Idaho painter. After our the stain don't you recommend any polyurethane floor finish?
ОтветитьWhat color/ stain brand was as that?
ОтветитьFor my IPE deck I used DeckWise IPE Oil. Deckwise recommended not to stain IPE wood or use a clear finish over the stain.
ОтветитьCan you use a sprayer with semi transparent?
ОтветитьWhy so many workers on that deck...cut in. And roll
ОтветитьI just finished a deck. The deck boards aren't all that wet, they're somewhat dry. In general, how long do I have to wait to stain?
ОтветитьDo you recommend filling in nail holes with wood putty? Do you clean a new deck that has dried for 5 months?
ОтветитьNice information
ОтветитьI have tried to stain my deck twice, with two different brands of semi-transparent stain. Each time my deck turns very cloudy after a few weeks. I don’t know what to do.
ОтветитьSo after staining for this job did you guys have to apply a clear coat or poly?? To keep the stain from wearing out?
ОтветитьWondering what stain was used? Also would recommend poles to save your knees
ОтветитьDo u have to do a clear coat over the oil stain?
ОтветитьDo you have to wipe away semi sold stain after you apply it with a brush ?
ОтветитьY'all getting after it,Thanks Paint Life 👍🤠
ОтветитьWith the grain like cutting hair 😂
ОтветитьStirring stain🆗
ОтветитьI didn’t know you had to wipe it off
ОтветитьYour knees must hurt all the time. No knee pads? If could be because you are young. Wish I was, STILL. Love the show.
Ответитьwhy are some semi transparent paints used wiped off with a rag while others arn't? ive seen some videos where people dont wipe off the excess with a rag and it looks decent, and others where they do wipe it off.
ОтветитьWhat color is this??
ОтветитьWhat product is this one ?
ОтветитьGreat video! 🎉😮
ОтветитьWhat stain is that? Anybody please let know
Tks
Brush 2 or 3 boards at a time
ОтветитьYou have no order to what you're doing
ОтветитьWrong color, doesn’t match the house and looks cheap
ОтветитьGreat video, Did you apply clear coat or it doesn’t need it?
Ответить
