Uzbekistan and Türkiye aim to boost their trade volume to $5 billion as part of a new agreement to expand products traded under the Preferential Trade Agreement. To support this, Uzbekistan will open a trade representative office in Istanbul. The agreement was made during a meeting between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Türkiye in Ankara.
They also established the Uzbekistan-Türkiye Business Council, chaired by the two presidents. The leaders discussed expanding cooperation in agriculture, water management, digitization, security, and defense. They emphasized the importance of cultural and humanitarian exchanges in education, healthcare, tourism, and sports.
