Duane Allman was the greatest slide guitar player of all time I would have included him on the list. I also thought a Clapton should be rated higher than seven I would’ve put him second or third. I also agree that Jeff Beck should have been on the list.

I'm sorry, I understand this list is about the most influential guitarists. And I kind of agree. But Hendrix is no way the most influential guitarist to influence other people to become lead guitarists!!

You took a impossible task by choosing a top guitar players. The same way of the top best food in history of delicious creation. All the names on your list as maestro; However, as since the guitar ( in all forms) invented since lost in pages, memories, and time galvanized. Would obviously does not exclusive the of future génie !!!

Ok, my three missing in action, which could get longer. Hank Marvin was the inspiration to a great number of British guitarists, Peter Green, Steve Hackett, Rory Gallagher, Steve Hillage, Andy Latimer, Mick Abrams, Paul Kossoff, Tony Mcphee, Gary Moore, Stan Webb, to name but three! I sometimes think that it is the ability to leave gaps, like Kossoff or draw long sustained notes like Gilmore, Stan Webb or Peter Green that shows a greater skill than the firework of shredding.

The only way I would accept Jimmy Page at #2 is if Hendrix was #1. Because to me, Page is the guitarist of all time. And following him is Stevie Ray, Eddie Van Halen and BB King. In no particular order.
But, when they came to Keith Richards and were showing a clip of Mick strutting across the stage I realized that Mick could never, ever be Mick without Keith. He may have met with success but, not become a legend and iconic without Keith being there. Keith is the man who made Mick.
Just like with Guns and Roses and it may be in this case (unlike the Stones who I always enjoyed and liked) due to my forever dislike of Axel Rose and therefore never liked Guns and Roses but, I always liked Slash. And I think without Slash Axel would never gotten to where he is. too many people like myself who dislike Axel but, respect slash.
