They could have done this a long time ago. Doing this right before an election year makes the timing of the charges suspiciously politically motivated. Though regardless if he has done the crime he should do the time. Nobody is above the law.

This is disgraceful l that Trump was indicted on someone which is, at best, a misdemeanor. None of the alleged "hush money" payments were illegal in and of themselves. If Bragg is attempting to prove that Trump somehow used unreported campaign funds for the payments, he is going to lose this case - there is simply no way he will be able to prove this beyond a reasonable doubt. If Bragg attempts to claim that Trump mischaracterized the payments as legal fees, then his lawyer , Michael Cohen, is the one at fault as Cohen advised Trump to characterize them as such.

The entire indictment is a joke. This criminal case should by thrown out on summary judgement or voluntarily dropped by Bragg. If Bragg does go forward with this prosecution, he may end up having his law license suspended for unethical conduct.
