Thank you so much for this information video. I had hip replacement surgery just over a month ago, and I have a lot of pain in that exact area. I didn't know what was causing it, and was worried it might be the wound infected under the skin or that I might have done some damage.
Your explanations are just perfect. Especially the don'ts. I will now not worry and continue with exercising.
Thanks for these tips and exercises. I've been experiencing hip bursitis for a month or so now. All of the other PT videos I watched included stretching the muscles ovet the bursae. I wondered why I wasn't making any progress. Here is to a better outcome!
ОтветитьThis is perfect for me right now, as I've been dealing with this condition for months, since last summer. But let me ask about your mattress. I see that it is quite firm. My mattress is less than 3 yrs old and still good, but I wonder if I may need something better, such as the one you have. I wonder if my mattress may have contributed to my condition. I'd love to have your input on this. Very beneficial video and wisdom, esp. the "Don't Stretch It!" idea. It's just good to have this reinforced as our inclination is often to stretch something that hurts. One more thing: would you incorporate an ice pack into your routine for treating hip bursitis?
ОтветитьI wanted to say that these are very healing 💖 I'll get a flare-up two or three times a year since they started, and it usually takes me a day to remember i need to do exercises to fix it, I will ice my tailbone right away.
Since i found your video and tried the exercises its instant relief of 50 percent of the pain and stiffness associated with the flare-up. Last time it was fixed within 3 days.
One started yesterday after my tailbone cracked while doing a vertical hang, then i took a bath to try to soothe my stiff hips, when i got out of the bath my bursa was hot and my legs stiffened up considerably so i reached for ice over my tailbone to quell inflammation.
I remembered today to search up your vid again! Feeling a bit better already.
When i hear about someone having bursitis in the future i will send them this vid. 😊
I still think the bursa should not be massaged but the area around it is okay.
I notice with the bonus advanced side plank that you swapped sides on the ground. So our "bad" side is closest to the floor. Correct?
ОтветитьWhat do you do with hip bursitis after a "nail and screw" trochanter/femur repair after a fall when the doctors are giving opposing advice? Surgeon said NO IT band stretching.....PT wanted me to get a 2nd opinion before continuing to see me which took 6 months (thanks to Desert Oasis insurance group under Blue Shield). 2nd opinion doc said she disagreed and I NEED to stretch it. No one has done any soft tissue tests to see why my hip is "clunking" with certain movements. It has now been a year, which is what they told me the healing time was, and I am nowhere close to "healed" and back to full mobility. I am active daily in caring for my quadriplegic partner and am walking about the house most of the day (just did my first out in nature walk yesterday with a walking stick), so I don't feel that I have been languishing letting the muscles get weak.
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьI wish you were my Doctor great exercises

ОтветитьOmg. Everything you said not to do, I realize that I do every day. Thank you❤ Also, is this why my legs have been hurting so much?
ОтветитьThank you for showing, I get the same horrible pain from truck driving, constant use of left and right legs for shifting gears. Stiff clutch doesn’t help either. I already do some of these from my healer kinesiologist girl but you have some more.
By the way this was a most pleasant video watch!
New subscriber right now!
What are the symptoms of bursitis?
I have no idea if I have it, however your message idea worked well for me.
i was told never to message the hip bursitis area?

ОтветитьMy right hip became inflamed after holidaying in beautiful Bali where we walked for miles and climbed a lot of steps. My physio has prescribed three of these exercises for me and they've made q big difference. I'm committed to keeping up with the routine as I'm off to Cambodia/Laos/Vietnam next year and want to be fit and pain free.
ОтветитьWhat puzzles me is how long do we have to keep going with these exercises, is this now a permanent regime?
ОтветитьIn my 70s and needed this! Been doing all wrong!
ОтветитьI have groun pain that goes around my lower back. What can I do to minimise or get rid of the pain? It also goes down my knee.
ОтветитьI tried strengthening exercises n flared up the hip bursitis pain again. Back to ice n advil.
Ответитьi have a frozen right hip plus weak right glutes..i have been doing physio which has helped tremendously to point i can now bend down and do my shoe laces..i saw your strengthening exercises for hips and glutes and like your explanation which makes sense.....keep up the good work 😊
ОтветитьWatching this video I see exercises I have been doing for years in my Yoga and Pilates classes. I have hip bursitis and the pain is debilitating! Thank you for this, it's greatly appreciated 😊.
ОтветитьWhy do you people keep talking about that pillow nonsense. It will not stay in place. I have a closet with stuff I wasted money on that claimed to keep the pillow in place.
ОтветитьSeriously wear clothes while demonstrating exercises and stretching
ОтветитьThat was distracting... nice
ОтветитьI don’t have bursitis but my, what beautiful legs!
ОтветитьSound fades out
ОтветитьAll those excercises are the ones my therapist said to avoid with my hip bursitis. He said especially the side leg lift ones. I’m confused.
ОтветитьNice bunsys
ОтветитьMy bursitis came on simultaneously with piriformis syndrome (not surprising) after spending hours behind the wheel every day for work (ironically doing equine body work). As well as the pillow between the knees, I've found that creating that Goldilocks not-too-hard, not-too-soft mattress surface helps too. I love to use my Derma Edge in a hot bathtub before bed to get those muscles relaxed a little prior to sleep. I'm still having flare ups, though, so I'm looking forward to trying these exercises.
ОтветитьHi, you helped me so much this morning, this hip pain just started, so!! I’ll be doing all of these starting today, thanks so much linda
ОтветитьThank you for sharing 🎉
ОтветитьSitting is a killer trigger for hip issues
ОтветитьHow did my iPad know (this video popped up) my bursa was pulsating with pain?
ОтветитьCool running shorts! Brand?
ОтветитьI get a little hip pain from running up hills ,I thought that was supposed to strengthen the hip flexors and glutes .Mind over matter ,pains not that bad so I am not stopping .
ОтветитьI have had it for years in both hips and shoulders
ОтветитьI can't find any videos for what to do with hip bursitis in both hips. Especially sleeping positions. Don't say back. I can't do that. I have been doing exercises for hips for a few years. They do feel better but still are sore, especially when sleeping. Help. I use a type of double wedge pillow and that helps, but when I travel, I Don't get any sleep because I can't bring special pillow with me. I now take Advil to help with pain.
ОтветитьIs it normal to need a cane often? I also have fibromyalgia. The bursitis bothers the IT band (at least that's what I've been told) so my whole leg is a problem. I'm 43 and I guess my concern is that my grandpa had a leg amputation due to atherosclerosis at 50.
ОтветитьI've been struggling with my left side for about two years, acupucture, massage, stretching, and now Pilates. Watching your moves is a lot like some Pilates moves I now do. All the things you say don't do, sticking hip out to the side, walking like a penguin, etc. I am so glad I found this video. I am going to do these exercises and try to walk correctly. I'm 77 and I shouldn't be like this. Thank you
ОтветитьNice body doc 🔥 I’m tryna be just like you!!
ОтветитьFor more consistent audio volume, I'd use Audacity with the following tools and settings:
1. Effects - Normalize
Remove DC offset: checked
Normalize peak amplitude: checked. Set to -3 dB
Normalize setero channels independently: not checked
2. Effects - Compressor
Threshold: -17 dB
Noise floor: -50 dB
Ratio: 8.1:1
Attack time: 0.10 secs
Release time: 1.0 secs
Make-up gain: not checked
Compress based on peaks: checked
I treat my audio in the following order:
- normalize
- compress
- normalize
Yes, normalize is used twice.
You (or your editor) will understand why while applying it.
PS: thanks a lot for the videos you make!
Is this mistaken for piriformis syndrome and if so how do I know the difference?
ОтветитьI stopped eating sugar ( desserts, sweets, candy , sports drinks, etc.) All hip pain and all inflammation disappeared
ОтветитьAre wall slides recommended for scoliosis .
ОтветитьI had hip pain. My endocrinologist told me that many people who have hip pain have vitamin D3 deficiency. I started taking a supplement, and it went away.

ОтветитьHi, thank you for the tips for my occasional bursitis. Hey, on my other leg my bursa is on top of the muscle (impact point from getting hit by a car). Is there any thing I can do about my upper hip bursa that escaped my musles? I am blessed and thankful to have survived let alone being as healthy as I am. I was in the 7th grade. I attribute my health and success to gymnastics and regular exercise. Thank you.
ОтветитьI wish u were my doctor, doctor Ennis
