This looks like a stick dial, which is nice but probably not period-correct for a 16760.

So sad you got a non period correct bezel insert , dial and hands and datedisc now…… a Fatlady of not much value…. But still a good daily beater.

I think this just about perfect. Shiny and new with a vintage asthetic.

The overhaul is worth it. Beautiful watch, one of my favorites of all time from Rolex.

A few things on this:
- reference 501 is for the end links. There are commonly replaced for those vintage references before the solid end links, as they are made of a folded sheet of metal, that collapses / gets loose over time
- for sure, the dial / hands / date wheel would have been replaced during a previous service, otherwise they would have been itemized on the invoice, in the same way as the crystal, end links etc.
- date wheels with open 6&9's were retired after 1992, and the transition would have started earlier (late 80's) depending on the models

Can you service a rolex even without the original card/paper etc?

The watch looks beautiful!

Absolutely beautiful. I cannot see how anyone would appreciate a beaten up watch over this stunner. Who cares if the parts aren’t “original “ The polish job is superb

Beautiful watch, years back someone offered me one for $3000. I really wish I had bought it!

Love that reference. I wish Rolex still offered their GMT's with the all brushed bracelets.

Looks great. Do they send you the old parts back to you or do they keep them?
