Do you have any solutions to high sensitivity? Every time I try to roll slightly, my entire plane almost rolls, I can barely speed up, on the ground I can barely takeoff, all it's saying is, "Flight controls" D

It’s like I found a pot of gold with these tutorial videos I’m in my 3 month with the hornet. I have the Tom Cat and the Viper, but I need to learn the hornet first comfortably before I get on Multiplayer. Are you on Open Beta?

Man that some level flight in this video, I tried it but all I was getting +1000 or -1000 ft climb rate and it couldn't maintain altitude... Really need some suggestions

Do you find that the plane tends to oscillate in pitch? I have tried different axis curves and dead zones...thanks!

Is it normal for the plane to climb automatically over around 400. I have tried trim but it doesn't stop climbing. The only option is forcing it down with the stick and using attitude hold.

Fantastic. I’ve been flying the virtual FA18 for about six months, after a lot more experience in Warbirds and other sims/games like IL2 with older style flight systems (not fly by wire). The explanation of the FCS aiming to get close to 1g was like a penny dropping. Yes, the 18 is ‘easy’ to fly, certainly compared to 1940s planes, but it always felt a bit floaty to me and I couldn’t really put my finger on why. Now that I understand the 1g thing, it makes complete sense and actually doesn’t feel floaty to me anymore as I understand what the system is trying to do. Cheers.

how did you add the option to display what your throttle and stick etc are doing? is it an option within DCS? I think it would be useful for me to quickly see if I am using the afterburners or not

I've noticed that if I get too slow at higher alpha the aircraft will be very hard to recover from a state of constantly trying to maintain that attitude. Any help?

bud, trying actually explaining and showing the controls you're talking about, since this is supposed to be a how to, it might be nice to you know, show how to

I've never noticed that trailing edge flap goes 0 degrees when pulling full and aoa becomes high!
that's interesting :p

It SEEMS to me that the trim capabilities of the F-18 are nowhere near as robust as they are in the A-10....... I presume the fly-by-wire is largely the reason?
Something that keeps happening is the elevators seem to get stuck in climb position, but the result is nothing more than significant drag. I must be doing something with the stick to cause the elevators to be impossible to level/trim......? This occurs in missions that open mid-flight, not after carrier or land-based takeoff.

Thanks for a great video! Just started trying to learn a bit about the F-18 and not finding a manual trim for the elevators was throwing me off, you explained it in a very few minutes more than some videos that go on and on and on for over an hour. All the best! Thanks again.

Thank you so much for this video. I've known how to take off, use my radar, use the weapons systems, etc. But I could never find a video explaining how to actually FLY... This has helped me so damn much.
