Copyrighted and trademarked material and acronym from "Organizing from the Inside Out" by Julie Morgenstern from which you didn't even give credit to.

One thing I’ve learned over time is that us neurodivergent types seem to understand each other even when no one else does. We can say “I need the thingy with the thing for thing” and a neurotypical will be like “huh???” 🤔 and a neurodivergent will be like “Yeah! The thingy! It’s over there.”

I'm doing my craftroom. I have put everything the same together and purged and put in a labelled box out of the room. I now have a 3/4 clear room. Only so many boxes can fit on the landing!! I have cleaned. Next step is put the furniture where I want and what furniture do I need . Trip to ikea. Then put everything back in the area with the question do you fit in the space and am i really going to use you? Looking forward to getting finished

I gotta ask… why is there nail polish remover and rubbing alcohol in your craft drawer? 🤔
Otherwise, I LOVE your videos!! Thank you for sharing your experience and expertise and ideas with us. I even have my teen watching so she can find her own organizing type and love her room.

I plan on using some cardboard boxes to use what I have on hand. For someone who is trying to organize the bins make sense but for someone like me who is trying to declutter more bins feels like it would be more clutter. . I will probably get real bins once I declutter everything. 😏😏

I am 67, probably becoming jaded, and while I appreciate your tenacity and overall good efforts, it's frenetic to me, very wordy without the tangible return I was going for. I am a very visual person so being ultra clear that you have YOUR schitt together helps me visualize how it could work. I am being overly critical I'm sure, but the first girl for organizing I tried was much more tedious and just unpleasant, to look at as well. Give us something that also gives us hope? Good luck. I see you have tons of people on board totally. That's great!

Typing this in the hope it’ll help me remember it, but going to check out the printable next—thanks, Cas!!!

(Step 0: Declutter and have a trash bag and donation box ready.)

SPACE:
Step 1: Sort into big categories.
Step 2: Purge (whatever you missed from your decluttering and) anything that doesn’t belong in that area.
Step 3: Assign a home for your sorted categories (e.g. a drawer or shelf). Then grab anything else around the house that needs to be moved into this assigned space.
Step 4: Place containers into the assigned space, keeping your organizational style in mind (if unsure, start with larger categories and containers).
Remember: You’re organizing to fit your space, not your stuff. Soooo make sure to select your favorites first. Hopefully this will make the next step easier.
Step 5: Eliminate (discard, donate, or put away whatever’s left).

Since we’re all here, your nobody learns anything theory is incorrect. I think teaching something you don’t understand is a recipe for failure, though.

Some learn by repetition, while others learn by understanding the logic.

Some learn visually (watching a video).

Some learn by trial and error (I think this is you), while others learn by reading instructions (that’s my preference).

Just as there are organizing styles, I think there are teaching and learning styles. See? YOU kinda taught me that!

Thank you so much. This is really going to be a life saver cleaning up my storage room. I have such a mess from the kids pulling stuff out so we decided to put a lock on the door and I'm going to try to organize everything and have kids sign out of the storage room like toys and crafts and such. You make something super hard look super easy and you're really awesome at explaining complicated organizing into something people like me can break down and actually start making progress <3

It sure helps to have the containers ahead of time. I did that and they sat around for awhile. Then I was about to organize my desk, and had the containers already. It was great. It was nice I didn't have to shop first. I then went to another area and did the same. I need to buy more containers. I do have scotch type tape and scissors in different areas in my house and it is a time saver. I can cut something and tape things in just a few seconds. But packing tape and duct tape are kept together.

Organizing tip for stickers… I’ve used 2 different methods. Again, follow the first rule…if you are not using them, declutter & donate! But if you do use and want to keep stickers, I either use an accordion file folder and label each tab by season/category/theme/color, or use a 3 ring binder and sheet protectors! This has helped keeping them organized and easy to sort through, and I find we actually use them because we can actually find them!
