Ya what he didn't mention how was Social Security paid for when FDR created it? It's the only thing left of the NEW DEAL of 1933 that created the middle class in this country.

All this is caused by corporate greed. When you launder your money in the stock market and then decided it is best to launder your employees retirement in a stock centric vehicle like a 401K, you can ignore pensions.

WE NEED SOCIALISM TO SURVIVE

It’s a legal requirement for all Private Employers in the UK to offer Pension Plans now, employees have to opt out or are automatically enrolled, I have no idea what a 401K is but it sounds super dodgy.

I got to be a millionaire a couple of times over on blue collar low income. Started young. Never had a car, just rode a bicycle that has a trailer; built a comfortable shed in my backyard and rented out the house. No movie theatres, concerts, restaurants or vacations. G.I.Bill paid for education. I watch travel videos. Free food from the food bank. Free entertainment with park, library, TV, books, free DVDs, CD, and books from the library. Did cardio and weights. Practiced guitar. Shopped at the Good Will for clothes and found cool stuff in people's trash on the street. Retired early. Now I'm old and have free gym membership- silver sneakers program. Gym has free internet as well and is open 24/7, just take my laptop. I work out everyday. I feel great, no problems. I just live on SS and investment income piles up ~3M net worth. I have a beautiful cat that loves me. Yay for living the poor life. It's not for everybody.

1O YEARS AGO.......my co-worker and I were on our lunch break, sitting at the picnic table, and, out of nowhere, I said to her, " Jan, one day we are going to be living like the Waltons!" She said, what?!" I said yep, the grandparenta, parents, and grandchildren will live together in order to make it!" She disagreed. 10 years later, she reminded me of the conversation, and guess what???? She, her daughter, grandchild are living together. She lost her husband. It's crazy out here now folks!

Millions of young Americans paying more to support seniors? That doesn't need to happen.

All we need to do is raise the current income limit on Social Security Tax. That was the people
making well over 100 thousand a year will make up what would otherwise be a shortfall but
the vast majority of young people will not be affected in any way.

So this video is very misleading.

I think these videos are put out to name drop investment advisors and make THEM money. Not that it’s bad to use a financial advisor but choose wisely….any money you make investing with them will cost you money cuz you have to pay them for their services….s you better make sure these investments earn enough to pay you AND them otherwise you are wasting your money. Do your research on your own….I just follow Buffet and Mungers advice…it might not make me rich quick but slow and steady never lost a race….and I don’t pay crazy fees for active managers…that aren’t always right

We experienced the pinnacle of our era, but it is now gone. Like what happened to Rome, the corrupt administration will bring this nation to an end. My condolences go out to anyone who is close to retiring and may be worried about whether their pension will be enough to pay the rising cost of living. Insane fiscal policy, poor regulatory policy, poor energy policy, and poor foreign policy

40 now, and everything is paid for. Fortunately, I had a college economics teacher who taught me a lesson when I was 18 years old. That lesson was: you can't buy something else for every purchase you make. Having multiple sources of income is prudent, as is living within your means. I have a 13-year-old vehicle because it is all I need, I like it, and I can do whatever I want with it. My net worth is $4 million, and I can pay my bills without stress, but I don't live like I have that. I have no complaints.

Am 58 retiring next year but the thought of retirement gives me weakness. My apologies to everyone who have retired and filing social security during this time after putting in all those years of work just to lose everything to a problem you never imagined to happen. It’s so difficult for people who are retired and have no savings or loved ones to fall back on.

I think the retirement crisis will get even worse. A lot of people can’t save because of low paying jobs, inflation, and insane rental rates. And now that home ownership is out of reach for middle class Americans, they won’t have a house to retire with either.
