It's amazing how many morals Mike puts into his lyrics:

Indeed, we may all shiver in the darkness, our courage and motivation sucked right out through rejection after rejection. We feel worthless, weak and feeble. We feel stripped of courage and passion. Our motivation destroyed in the floods of our tears. But, the fact is, is that it's all a journey of belief. For when we look into the eyes of our lovers, we don't see the pain that we endured or the passion that we lost. No, we see it as an adventure that we endured to gain the person we love.
My message? Is that no matter how many rejections we encounter, we'll look back on them in future years and be grateful for the steps we endured to get where we are. To all the incredible people out there who are suffering through such tragic times, it'll get better.
