So I had to have a play with your game. £5k car and started with a Honda Civic Type R 2008 £5150 so easily achievable for £5k. Full Honda history. 1 owner and 80k miles. Fun to drive, reliable and Vtec are a laugh. £10k car I went with a manual V8 BMW 650i convertible. Very rare car again 1 owner, 86k miles and & £8995 so
Leaving £1000 for a bit of
Maintenance fund.
The £20k car as good as the M5 was I went with a AMG SLK55 with the performance pack so no speed limiter bigger brakes and split rim wheels. 36k miles full MB History and also had a SLK55 number plate. Not only that it came in £500 under budget.
Audi Quattto TT 3.2 AWD
ОтветитьI knew the S5 would be on there but was expecting maybe the b8.5 or B9
Ответитьthe audi s5 is timing chain 5k job unfortunately . mate of mine just had his done
ОтветитьBMW no way,I own an m sport, it's a shit box😂😢
ОтветитьMg zt 260. 4.6 ford Mustang V8 260bhp and rwd. I had mine for 3 years and loved it a nice cruiser but could handle well for such a big car. It was reasonably practical to if you missus the 22mpg. I must have spent about £1500 on it in the 3 years I had on it in terms of maintenance and repairs.
ОтветитьBMW F10 looks perfect
ОтветитьBought a stage 2 VRS from a buddy of mine. Ideal "dad" car, lots of room for me and my family, perfect for grocery getting and family vacations, and lot's of fun teasing some high power factory cars that are expected to be fast.
ОтветитьLexus Is f under 20k
Ответитьthe title doesn’t go near the content. these cars are money pits surely. scary cars. I’d like an interesting second car but these all frighten me.
ОтветитьThe Jaguar XF- interesting? Not without the V8.
Alfa - unreliable and FWD or add-on-FWD-4-Wheel-drive with a heavy engine on the front wheels? Even the beauty of this car doesn't justify it.
Audi S5 - nice one there - would recommend the S4 for more useability but "won't ruin you" doesn't apply. Lots of construction sites like the intakes and chains.
Jaguar XK - best choice so far.
F10 is good - but don't get the V8 or the 4-Cylinders (N20/B47). Get the 30d N57 or the NB53/NB55 30i/35i. 4-Cylinders will die because of the chain issues, V8 is a little more reliable but it will ruin you if something happens and BMW V8s will eventually do so after 100k km. Main bearing shell is one of the most reliable failures on BMW V8s. M5 is an intersting choice. Be aware it will be very costly to maintain and if you don't do so, even more expensive.
Boxster - not beautiful but interesting - but be aware, any Skoda Octavia 1.8t with Stage 1 will leave it standing and that is not a fast car.
I don't know the prices in the UK but 135i Coupe and 335i E90, Z4 E85 3.0i, Golf Mk4 2.8 VR6 (just watch out for the timing chains!), Alfa Giulia, Ford Mustang 5.0, Golf MK5 GTI Edition 30/Pirelli Edition, Scirocco R, Audi S3, Audi A4 3.0 TDI, Mercedes C W204, Mazda MX5 ...
Bmw645 . Worth less than ten thousand Nz , a lot of bang for buck . Have had to spend 5 k to replace all the variable intake and valve timing gadgets , replaced the wiring to those as well as they break down after 20 years , then it’s back to being a beast !
ОтветитьAll them cars are great, but will loose money over time.
Sub 20 lotus 111s bags of fun easy to run and the price just keeps going up.
I do hope the titty ho sales team make sure the transaction description says titty ho when a customer puts a deposit on their car, I'd love to see the look on my bank managers face when he sees £10k for titty ho.
ОтветитьHoping to buy something for sub £10k in the next year or two, and I'm glad there's so much choice out there.
Sub £5k either an XF-S Diesel or a Chrysler 300C, the latter being the more left field option.
Sub £10k can get you a Jag XFR (my current preference), the XF SV8, Audi S5 V8/S6 V10 or an Insignia VXR.
Sub £20k I'd be looking at a VXR8, or E63 AMG.
Great video and excellent to see these affordable but exciting cars getting a well deserved mention. As others have said in the comments, we're actually really lucky in the UK to have such a diverse myriad of 'interesting' cars at affordable prices!
I am surprised that the S5 hasn't become a boy racer/tuner car, a remap and a intercooler on the v6 you'd be pushing 500bhp for 15k all in
ОтветитьI've got an X308 XJR for sale. Jack from Number 27 featured it on his channel.
ОтветитьMy S-type 2.7D spun a bearing. :(
ОтветитьOne Japanese car? Japanese make the most trouble free cars. There has to be an mx5 or MR2 in that catagory?
ОтветитьI think this people can not be trusted, they care about driving a bit to much. 😀
ОтветитьSkoda octavia vrs for sub 10k
Skoda superb sport 4x4 dsg 280ps get one with 30k mileage and with all the toys of Audi.
That M5 steals the show
ОтветитьI would also add a Lexus ISF as a great sub £20k choice. Lovely inside, ultra reliable and quick enough to have some fun!
Also not too thirsty for a V8!
How about a BMW 435D. 4WD, great on fuel, & huge torque. The coupe with the boot or the GT with the hatch. Good looking yet subtle.
ОтветитьNot sure what J has been smoking prior, but he's miles off on this occasion!
Ответитьwas it not the 2 litre ingenium engine and not the 2.2 ?? ( jag ) that had issues ??
ОтветитьA Brera with 120k miles on it? I would prefer betting on red or black at a roulette table... Also, they just look too dated and not that great-looking. Only a connoisseur would appreciate the car. On the other hand, one always-overlooked car sub-20k is the Lexus ISF - unlike the M3 or S5, it's got a Toyota build quality and it also feels like a more refined car than its BMW or Mercedes counterparts. It's probably the only one that will never ruin you.
ОтветитьANY Jag is going to financially ruin you, lets be honest.
F10 M5 oh yes, that is a proper car.
How the fuck can you start a series based on buying cars that won’t financially ruin you and suggest a £5k jaguar V8, aside from the obvious sub 15 MPG figures they are utter piles of shite.
ОтветитьDid you only choose the XK because of the Titty Ho Moto Co?
ОтветитьGod damn, a Jag XK for under £10k. In Australia you would need the equivalent of £30,000 ($55,000 aud)
Ответить£20k cars: F10 M5, Alfa Giulia Veloce, RS4 Avant 2013-14, 5.0 V8 Jaguar XJ, Audi S8, BMW 760Li, 2010 Lancer Evo X, Audi S7/RS7
£10k cars: Audi S5, Audi S4, BMW X5 3.0 40d, BMW 535d F10, Merc E500 V8, Golf GTI, Golf GTD, Leon Cupra
£5k cars: Alfa Giulietta Cloverleaf, Jaguar XF
Foe these budget discussions i never like it how one example makes the price point. When i do this with my mates we have three makes makes an average rule.
Exceptions for where you cant find three in the country.
My 2013 skoda fabia 1.9 tdi is worth more than I paid for it in 2017..wtf!
ОтветитьLexus RCF
ОтветитьI had XF 2013 2.2d. That was worst car ever. And I love jags, had x308 XJR.
That car despite being dealer serviced till the end - had no issues with that Peugeot engine.
But various electrical malfunctions and defects which drove me crazy + constant visits to my local specialist were very very very expensive. Parts on that car also are very expensive compared to other brands f.e. simple thing as front shocks are crazy. Had to spend way over 5k in 2 years, not including oil, tires and brakes.
At the end managed to trade in that crap when felt gearbox start slipping.
Also there are no space in back or trunk.
I was always laughing from passat and its drivers. But since I need to financially recover from owning an XF - i brought b8 passat and could not be happier. It's more comfortable, way more reliable, economical and modern. I would not recommend to anyone to buy an XF. Even well serviced. Maybe just maybe very low mileage, but then again - i had many issues that are simply age related.
I think all these choices are money pits - old, high mileage English or German cars make me very nervous.
ОтветитьA shout for under 20k I'd go with the Vauxhall Monaro if you wanted a v8.
ОтветитьS4!!
ОтветитьYou could have also titled this: two brits pic 6 unreliable cars under 20k.
ОтветитьXF pet good shout at 5 or even 10 but I was lucky enough to have a Jag XJL autobiography at 22k I paid another 2k for a three year warranty.
It was the 3 L diesel but it had 300 brake horsepower. It had every single possible option as standard, and went like the wind. I kept it for free years and then got 17,000 back. As an experience, it was brilliant. as shame to get rid of it, but like any of these things they’re all temporary.
You’re welcome to use my Volvo C70 MY07 for a review on your channel if you’re interested. It’s my school run car for my two Boys 7 & 4 years old, great fun for the boys when the roof is down on the way to school. Works great in the winter as well because of the Hard Top convertible roof which makes it a very usable car all year around.
Hopefully i can add an Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio this August for my 40th. Loved your review on it 👌🏼👌🏼
Thats Brera has that horrible GM V6 get an Alfa with a Busso V6!
MG ZT
Alfa GTV 3.0 V6
Fiat Coupe 20V turbo
Ford ST 220
TVR Cerbera
These are awful choices hahaha
ОтветитьS5 doesn’t have the timing chain guide problem that the earlier 4.2 v8 had
ОтветитьFor sub 20k I am quite tempted by a Lexus IS F. A 5 litre, 400+ bhp saloon that if taken care of will do mega miles reliably......and stick a silly grin on your face at the same time.
ОтветитьAt 20K my 'no brainer' would be a 340i or a 440i.
The B58 is such a great engine, in the 3 series you can even find a few wagons under the £20k mark and there's nothing cooler than fast wagons in my book.
What about a Lexus IS250 petrol auto for 5k Budget ?
ОтветитьThe Brera 3.2 is a terrible choice for a cheap car because road tax is £60 a month!
ОтветитьSub 20k a great option is either A7 3.0 tdi. Sound like an R35 with good exhaust system. BMW 335d. The engines are great, its rapid but diesel so good on fuel.
Ответить
