Well note, the peloton was sold out for months due to supply chain issues. They sold out of the ones they had already the pieces for and/or built, then they couldn’t make any more because of issues getting materials early in lockdown. So that’s a huge difference between Mirror and Peloton.

The point is: it’s wonderful that there is an interest to encourage more people to do exercise and eat healthy, but not with a capitalist goal behind it

the thing about wework is that a company looking to lease long term office space would not want to pay the markup that wework adds to the lease cost. my sister just began working her first office job in a small regional advertisement company, and their office is one floor- with all the fun stuff that wework advertises, like the beer on tap and open office spaces, but without the middle man wework driving up the price. lots of companies are embracing what wework wanted to be, but they’ll do it in their own buildings. this combined with the rise of wfh really seems like the death knell of wework. i can only see wework working for short term space for small businesses. but i’m not a business person so who knows🤷‍♂️

Glossier definitely isn't the exemplar of the "wellness industry". I wish their products were non-toxic, but they aren't.

I love mensural cups! I’ve had my diva cup for 7 years and I’ll never go back to tampons, once in a blue moon I’ll get some pads when I’m just too lazy to put the cup in. Psa I know they say to boil the cup or use special soap, from experience, mix equal parts rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide, it disinfects and gets rid of the staining/smell that WILL happen!

One of my (many lol) problems with the wellness industry is how it really doesn’t touch on the fact that mental health is different for everyone. Take me as an example. I have generalized anxiety that mostly stays in the range of being a condition rather than a disorder. (For those who may not know, a disorder is when it gets in the way of you living your everyday life and a condition is when you can still live your life without it having too much of a negative effect 💜) However, it can and has become disorder for periods of time (thankfully it has only become a disorder for me once, which I am forever grateful for). The wellness industry doesn't really acknowledge the fact that mental illnesses are on a SPECTRUM and can shift on that spectrum at any given time. And dont even get me STARTED on the lack of representation for neurodivergent people!

Glossier is about loving your skin and wearing minimal makeup unless you have acne/acne scars/another skin condition. Since the whole "clear skin" and "your skin but better" rhetoric has started (mostly with Glossier becoming popular), the belief that acne is dirty has increased exponentially. It's actually very exclusionary.

Idk...I walk into a gym and go "wow, this is a nice gym" when I go to different gyms and get excited about equipment 😂🤷🏿‍♀️

Wellness industry is disgusting. I work in it, I have Bechterew disease and of course I hear all the time BS how our supplements will heal me (yeah they will surely wipe out this stupid gene…)

I am slightly obese -> caused by pcos, insulin resistance and hypothyroidism.
Now I am on hormone replacement for thyroid, started Ozempic and finally all I do works… I lost few years of my life to “try harder” when I should have been in the doctor’s office.

As someone who uses glossier make up and has been using it for years now I absolutely love the brand and I definitely do not want to think about using any other make up brand except them. There are multiple companies that have a mirror work outsystem. The reason why i wouldnt buy one or a peleton is the subscription cost. If you have to spend 1k+ on the equiptment I want that to be the end of the costs i pay, i dont want to pay a 50$ monthly fee to access the videos and what not to use the equiptment. Its ridiculous. Just buy a tredmill, a stationary bike, and a rowing machine, some dumbells, and a yoga mat and you can do everything you need. The most effective equiptment to use for the entire body to workout is a rowing machine so if you cn only get one thing thats it and you are done.

Oh the mirror product 😂 I knew someone that had one and was trying to let me use their login to use the workouts and I declined because I was skeptical it would somehow end up costing me money too. I have no idea if they regularly used the product of if it was any good.

I'm 2 years late but look: The Mirror was heavily marketed across New York City. The appeal was that since it just goes on the wall it could be suitable for a small apartment. The issue is that it cost as much as the rent for said small apartment. Nobody was tryna get evicted over a Mirror.

u know what annoyed me about glossier the most? since 2018, as a dutch person i've always wanted to buy their products but they were not available in most european countries at all which i think is so annoying. especially bc dutch girlies are the kind of girlies to have a make up no make up look!!! you will barely see dutch girlies witb full glam out! so what the fuck were they doing????

What people forget is that loosing a bunch of weight makes you loose muscle which is extremely unhealthy. Also, anorexia and starving an cause teeth to become unhealthy so I don’t recommend anorexia unless you want yellow teeth
