HOW TO PLAY DUNGEONS & DRAGONS - A beginners guide to D&D

So… uh… Our lunch break in school is kinda 20 mins long… so…

One time me and my friends made a story together, it ended up with a unicorn pooping on a mushroom and then the mushroom help the unicorn find a restroom crying 😭😭😭😂😂😂

I've been looking for more of a crash course, explaining character sheets, races, backgrounds, how each choice can benefit or hinder your character, making an example character sheet, playing a small 10 minute game just to show different parts of the character sheet. This is just what is DnD.

Getting into DnD feels like I'm doing a giant math problem. I think I know some things, but together it just doesn't click 😓 really want to play

Why is so hard to teach how you play d&d?

I joined because I binged the Big Bang Theory...

As for me.

Pick a videogame(eg skyrim)

Let my friend choose what they want to be and i set out stats or let them roll dice for stats.

And have fun with all the random encounter

I’m gonna give DnD a try I remember I played it once on a camping trip and there was a little social area and I saw these I think 3 guys playing DnD I was wondering what they were doing and they told me what it was and asked if I wanted to play I said yes it was quite fun we only had about 2-3 sessions unfortunately but I’m gonna give DnD a try and try to learn the rules

I'm in a new school and a friend of mine is in their DnD club, and I really wanted to join, but I have no idea how to. As the new year comes around, I really wanted to join. As of someone who loves fantasy but isn't very good with getting so much info at the same time, this video helped me lots. Again, thank you so much for this, and wish me luck of my journey!!!

Could your stats improve or get worse as you play? That would be a really nice addition to the gameplay I think

I played dungeons and dragons for the first time yesterday and had the worst dungeon master, I said my character goes to look for a general store and the DM kept narrating my character doing anything but that and I kept repeating that action to no effect, it felt like this dude was an ai coming up with bs and making my character do things I never told him to do as if I wasn’t even playing my character and to make it worse when I was talking to other PLAYER CHARACTERS I had to role for “persuasion” even though it should have been up to the other players whether they felt convinced and it should have been they role for insight on me if anything to see if I was lying. The guy didn’t even have a name for the city we were in and no names for anything other than a handful of npc names and a half assed dungeon that he had us choose how it played out effectively making us narrate it instead in certain situations cause he didn’t have much planned. It was obvious that he was winging the whole thing the whole time and it left a really bad taste in my mouth cause I was so excited and dressed up as my character and everything and even brought props just for him to barely have a campaign planned and to also make my items not have the effect they should have because when I go to ingest it I had to role for “constitution” and failed and was knocked out instead.

Playing my first game tomorrow so hyped!

What I need to know is if there is any base lore. Is there a commonly accepted limit for godly beings? How dark can you get with your lore? Are there multiple worlds? Or are the species the only things that are kind of set in place? As an author this is mostly just an interesting way to dump my fantasy species ideas in an easily digestible format. But I need to know about lore to know the limits of what the community can actually use.
