Liquids (especially water) are a poor source of minerals. Our physiology shows that nutrients and minerals are absorbed through the digestion of solids.

What a load of crap! the amount of minerals in unfiltered tap water is MINIMAL. Do you drink rainwater? well taht's pretty much devoid of minerals too and it's great for you. Just eat a good diet - leafy greens etc and you'll get your mineral needs. It's MUCH better to drink filtered water that has taken out the filth that they put in it like fluorides and chlorines etc.

Oh, no! Not another lie about distilled water "leeching" minerals from your body! If you're eating a balanced, healthy diet and choosing to drink distilled water, you're fine!

Reverse osmosis or RO takes out the bacteria because the holes are so small it does not pass through.

Makes no sense to be scared you don’t get minerals as you get all those minerals through your food if you eat healthy foods and salad.

Our water in Savannah is disgusting. We have sludge that builds up in our tap, our toilets and our drains. A water filter is a must and not just for drinking. Do you want to shower or wash your clothes or run your dishwasher without a whole house water filter? This guy would think twice about his 5-gallon jugs.

you should NOT be depending on water for your daily minerals. If you are... something is really wrong with your diet. I use ZeroWater, no more 'stomach' issues. My coffee tastes better, spaghetti, soup, etc. NO WAY am I ever drinking tap water again. I don't use under the sink / inline filters; just a 22 cup filter tank that I use to stock 8 gallons of water in plastic water jugs. As they get used up, we filter up more water and keep the 8 gallon 'buffer' replenished. The filters last us about 35-40 gallons. Works for us.

So do you plan on removing the filtration from your personal water in your home? As for leeching from the ground, as long as your pipe that is supplying the water is made of materials that are up to code this is unlikely. the filtration systems are, depending on the method, removing heavy minerals through ion exchange. this would mostly be your manganese and Iron which is what causes staining in your sink and tub. and depending on how hard your water is and the goal of treatment, you may have a ph set up to raise the pH of your water for a better quality of tap water. you may also include a separate nitrate system in order to remove harmful nitrates as the title implies. if you are worried about bacteria buildup in the system first be sure to maintain the system properly (change filters regularly, add salt when needed, add calcite when needed) and you can also add a chemical injection such as chlorine followed by a contact or retention tank. If you are worried about a smell or taste from the chemical, a carbon filter after the retention tank will do that. and if in the end, you are still worried about drinking the water, have a point-of-use R.O. installed with a separate faucet for drinking water. these are usually pretty affordable and can be done DIY or by a pro and provide a great tasting and safe source. think Aquafina but better. As for spring water, unless you are getting it from some of the fancier more expensive brands, it is collected shipped, or piped to a factory where it undergoes pretty much the same process but on a much larger scale

Ive been looking into trying to get the healthiest water I can and ive come to the conclusion that because of what cites add to it and the 'forever chemicals' that are unavoidable there really is nothing you can do to get actual healthy water.. the kind we drank as we evolved. You drink it from the tap, your effed,.. filter it... your effed but in other ways. For me.. I feel filtering the hell out of tap water then supplementing all the good stuff that was stripped out of it is the way to go... but what an expensive chore that would be.

Too bad that your attempt to offer help isn’t really in everyone’s best interest. When is the last time that you have your “spring” water fully test by a really good water testing company? Your failure to realize that filtering city water around the world is essential. To remove the majority of things that you shouldn’t be drinking. As long as you understand that keeping your pitcher or countertop unit clean and that you change the filter as recommended by the manufacturer nothing should affect you negatively only positively.

My problem over here is they installed a water softener tank in the building and now I cant stand the taste of the water. So I have been trying to find counter top water purifiers and I think I might buy the Rkin U1. I know its expensive but, well. Any thoughts on the Rkin U1 or any other water purifiers that don't have to be hooked up under the sink?

Do you have a link to the science that says drinking water leeches minerals out of our body. This makes no sense. The water leaving us would then leech minerals either way.

The actual solution is — get your blood work checked. If it’s normal, you’re good.

1. bacteria growth is stopped with silver impregnated filters, if they are not then get different filters

2. minerals in tap water are not good source for your cells as they are mostly non assimilated. Maybe 5% are assimilated not more. Most of the minerals are mainly limescale which clogs your arteries. veins see book from Dr norman walker water can undermine your health

Conclusion: useva reverse osmosis filter with prefiltering using silver impregnated filters or distilled water.

You need to get the filtered water vortexed too to get back its natural energy..See schauberger.

Any good RO filter system also has a mineral cartridge as the final stage this puts all the minerals back into the water you drink, maybe your system is a bit old and should be replaced with a modern system

The minerals in water or inorganic minerals as in rocks...not bioavailable so that doesn't matter. Add electrolytes or a little Redmond's salt if that bothers you. Distilled water helps sweep out inorganic minerals from the body due to its ionic charge

By law, spring water which is transported via tanker truck to the bottling company is required to have chlorine added to it for transport, and then the chlorine is filtered back out via charcoal before bottling. Thus the minerals are probably added back in artificially. The amount of fuel used to transport, bottle, transport AGAIN plus the plasticizers make tap water healthier -see your town report-. Mine has PFAS from old jewelry factory that leached so I must use NSF 53 level (Frizzlife triple stage filters) ... I probably should buy a silver pitcher too now that I think of it...

I've heard a compelling explanation of why a UV light does nothing as a part of an air circulation system. I'd want to see / hear test results on the effectiveness when applied to water before being convinced I should have it for water treatment. Maybe it's to keep the spout sterilized?

The reason why I use a filter is a lot of reasons but one of the main ones was when I was a kid back in 1973 the news anchor goes when the water treatment plant screws up they don't always tell the public that means like maybe they use too much cleaner in the water and there you are drinking it yeah and then now he that some water is unfit for drinking that comes out of the tap
