Tbh I pierce in the US. I have been for over 6 years. My apprenticeship is really close to what you described. I got my blood born pathogens certification, then spent at least 6 months shadowing someone, just watching piercings, learning, asking questions, cleaning equipment, placing orders for jewelry, etc.
Then when I was finally ready to start piercing, I started with my friends and pierced them for free (supervised of course), then after doing so many of a certain piercing, I was allowed to offer my services to walk-in clients at a discounted rate if they were ok with me being new to the job. And I just worked at it until I was really good at every piercing we offered. :)
So it's technically an apprenticeship but it sounds like I learned almost exactly like you did.
I have diagnosed Anxiety so I’m very anxious and stressed all the time BUT I’m currently a Dental Assistant.. surrounded by anxious patients and high stress fast paced work and do pretty well. I wonder if I could handle the piercer industry even though they said not to become a piercer if you’re anxious or get stressed easily 🤔
Ответитьdid you get paid as a piercing trainee? i know it's mandatory here to pay apprentices but i was wondering how it is where you are :)
ОтветитьHi! I’m currently 17 and my dream is to become a piercer. After HS I am going to trainings. Everyone is telling me how I will fail and my business is going to fail, but I am not giving up so easily on my dreams

ОтветитьI’ve always wanted to do it and still want to not never have been fortunate enough to find someone to teach me 😞
ОтветитьYou pronounced autoclave wrong.
ОтветитьI completely forgot about that fact that you have to actually pierce a person 💀 like I knew it but it didn’t fully click like “ wow this will be my first person” anxietyyyy
ОтветитьMe, an American going to law school and has never even been to Australia: I need to know how to become a piercer in Australia.
ОтветитьI’m working on my way to start up my own piercing business. Doing the course This April so I have the practical side. You are helping me so much to know the steps to take xx
ОтветитьI did a 4yr piercing apprenticeship in Australia.... I was lucky enough to find someone who was happy to pay me to learn and took the time to train me properly! Very rare, but it does happen!
ОтветитьI use to want to be a body piercer, because I use to pierce my own ears (don't get mad lmao) and then my ex let me try to pierce his ear with a sewing needle 😬😬😬😬😬
ОтветитьInteresting video. I guess a good piercer needs similar knowledge as a nurse, considering you are literally making holes in people, especially a piercing close to arteries, veins and nerves. Also there is a hepatitis (C?) Risk if materials aren't to standard?
ОтветитьHave you ever met a left handed piercer ? I’ve been doing my own piercings since I was a teenager. I am 25 now. I’m having thoughts of becoming a professional piercer. I have some worries though because of my left handed ness lol
