Just build pretty outfield wall. A social space is a great idea. Erect a big overhang over the upper grandstand seats too! The stadium has so much potential!
ОтветитьGreat video about Comerica Park! Been looking forward to this video as a Tigers fan. I love your idea about an overhang in right field with a restaurant and few seats. Old Tiger Stadium had an overhang in right field which was cool and replicated in the Rangers Globe Life Stadium the outdoor version they left in 2019. And yea crazy hearing all these renovations from ballparks built around time Comerica Park opened yet we can’t even fix the fences that was a mistake in 2000. I DETEST the double wall, so cheap. That bullpen area in left should be a spot for fans, seats or an open space bar on the field. Also don’t know how they fix this, Comerica is an awful place to watch a game on a warm to hot sunny day or rain, almost all the seats are exposed to the elements except the last rows in the lower level which they turned into more expensive Tiger Den seating, funny they created that in the back row knowing that is only place fans are covered from the elements. I’m 41, I miss the old Tiger Stadium, wish they built a modernize version of Tiger Stadium, it’s what the Yankees did, Red Sox we’re going do before embracing Fenway. Regardless Comerica is unimpressive, the outfield has always bothered me with the bland seating, it does look like Chase Field or even Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago, it’s built below the street level where no kidding a stray bullet could enter in there too. Unfortunately the current owner is Chris Ilitch who took over for his late father in 2017 and Chris has been very cheap from payroll, the Tigers USED spend, draw big crowds from 2006-2016, unfortunately Chris has treated the team as a second rate operation, with more focus on the Detroit Red Wings who they also own. I’ve kinda accepted that the Tigers are going always be at Comerica Park and unless the team is sold to a new owner that the ballpark will continue fall behind the times with lack of renovations. Again, fact they can’t even fix the fences! They literally had a double wall in left field from 2003-2004, in 2005 with the All-Star Game there is only reason they invested some money in moving the bullpens to left, still leaving the double wall but at least filling in that 25 foot gap, then filled in seats where the bullpen used be in right field. This past year is when they moved center and right center in and looks like went to Home Depot with the sloppy work done. So again if they can even fix the fences, outfield I’ll be surprised and happy, my expectations are very low for the Chris Ilitch owned team.
ОтветитьAlso forgot mention, this is how lazy they are, they have decade bats that were installed along the concourse when the park opened in 2000, showing artifacts from each decade, well they’ve played two plus decades there and that thing hasn’t been updated once. Again hope I’m wrong, but with a 35 year lease, a frugal Chris Ilitch, I don’t see anything major happening here, can easily see Comerica sliding to the bottom tier of ballparks at end of the decade when the Rays, A’s, White Sox, Royals, DBacks all solve their stadium issues. Again I prefer a new park, retractable roof, day games are brutal in the summer there, April and May is crappy weather, unfortunately that will never happen long as Chris Ilitch owns the team.
ОтветитьThey got a merry go round at the ballpark ....
ОтветитьDo a video on Great American Ball Park ....
ОтветитьI don't understand the disdain for Comerica Park. I've been there and it's really nice. I loved the huge dimensions. Home runs should be hard to hit.
ОтветитьComerica is an ok park. It has way too many gimmicks (ferris wheel and merry go round) and is way too exposed to the elements in most of the seating. The view is good pretty much no matter what seat you buy but even as an 8 year old kid I missed Tiger Stadium and still do today. If the team is ever sold I hope Comerica is renovated to look more like Tiger Stadium and maybe renamed Harwell Stadium (after Ernie Harwell) to pay respect to a beloved announcer of the past so we can get away from all these souless corporate names.
ОтветитьThere are major cracks in the concrete, a few years ago there was reports of concrete falling from the stands above, the TVs in the concourse are old, and the walls look horrible like you said it’s a Little League look. If they could not cheap out on the walls and make it look a lot better, get new screens for the concourse, and fill in the cracks or maybe even lay down a whole lot of new concrete just those little things would make the park look better. The new lighting has modernized it a little bit but they need to do better. Because while Comerica is a nice park overall it’s starting to show its age quite a bit
ОтветитьIm a ballpark chaser. Went here last night. My 18th of 30 stadiums. I had no issues with this one. Friendly fans, clean stadium and not outdated. I give it a solid 7 out of 10.
ОтветитьWhat comerica park needs besides a good team is much better customer service and food options, look to pnc or miller park for solutions
ОтветитьNot one thing wrong with Comerica. It's a great park.
ОтветитьTell me you've never been to Comerica Park without actually telling me you've never been to Comerica Park.
This was a very rough video to get through.
I love coamerica park! I think it’s a great open field with an amazing skyline! I don’t think the tigers need a new ball park or a big renovation… but some minor renovations in the outfield would be reasonable.
ОтветитьYou need to do a story on new Yankee stadium. in the outfield if you sit in right field they built a bar in the middle so you can’t see love you if there is a fly bottle left. The opposite is true the other way if you sit in left field you cannot see a flyball the right they put TVs up so you can see Yankee Stadium is a mausoleum it is not like the older Yankee Stadium.
ОтветитьDude what are you even talking about?
ОтветитьThe Tigers are not only the only charter Western League team to never relocate or change their nickname but they hold the AL record for most consecutive seasons w over 1,000,000 fans (excluding the Covid season).
Say what you want about attendance, Detroit sports fans are loyal to a fault.
Tigers need to go to their farm clubs for talent.
ОтветитьShould of never left tiger stadium 🏟
ОтветитьWill NEVER move. CoPa is adjacent to Ford Field and Little Caesars Arena two blocks away. Little Caesars headdquarters is across the street on Woodward.
ОтветитьHere are a lot of cosmetic things I don 't like such a those brown seats in lower deck near home plate. Dislike the dirt path from the pitcher's mound too homeplate. Next some BAD things...
ОтветитьWorst things: home plate is too far from the stands. Dislike the double decked suites. The upper deck is set back too far. The tigers can improve the cosmetics, but these can't be easily fixed...😢
ОтветитьI love Comerica Park they’ve done a great job lately updating it.
ОтветитьNo it doesn’t need a roof, lol
ОтветитьI've been to 15 MLB Stadiums and there are only 2 that are better than Comerica Park. Those 2 are Oracle Park(SF Giants), and Petco Park(SD Padres). I am disappointed with the fact that Comerica eliminated the scoreboard on the RF wall when they lowered the RF wall. That was a really cool feature. They didn't need to go crazy on moving the fences in either.
ОтветитьA poor replacement for Tiger Stadium. Downtown Detroit is also a disaster area. Cleaning that up is up to the doopy politicians.
ОтветитьIf they just would have designed the new park a throwback of the beloved old, most would be happy, no other former park had as much love, Detroit lost part of its soul when they closed then demoed it
ОтветитьThe walls have always bothered me. The park was so beautiful with the original wall dimensions
ОтветитьMake it a dome or built a dome!!!
ОтветитьComerica is underrated bruh… you have to go to understand
ОтветитьI only have one question for you------ does anything please you in any way? If there is, I do not want to hear about it, because you'll probably change your mind 2 days later.
Ответитьcould use a little tlc but doesn't need a major renovation at this point. my only criticism is the amount of visual clutter at comerica. too much advertising eyesores.
ОтветитьComerica sucks. The third deck is too far away from the field and 95 percent of the seats are in the sun for day games. Not like Detroit has San Francisco or San Diego summers. It often hot and humid from Memorial Day through mid September. I miss the shade Tiger Stadium had.
ОтветитьHorrible park
Typical MLVB stadium
Horrible sight lines.
The concessions to the box seats is a mile up hill,
Tiger stadium was way better
Bring back the jewel box stadiums
I'm certain DG is offering to pay for these renovations, he wants to see, out of his own pockets!
ОтветитьI remember going to Comerica when it opened and I thought, "We left Tiger Stadium for this?" It was exactly the same thoughts I had when they built Joe Louis Arena to replace the Olympia. (Yes, my wife and I do get the senior discount when we go out to eat 😊) I do like Ford Field and Little Caesars' Arena better than The Silver Dome and JLA. When the Pistons moved to The Palace, that was definitely an upgrade from Cobo. I am glad the Pistons are back downtown now. They got the site right with Comerica but were too focussed on showing abandoned skyskrapers in the background of the outfield than they were about the experience for ticket holders. If they tear down right and left fields and double deck them the stadium might be salvageable. Make it resemble Tiger Stadium and maybe we can correct this mistake of a stadium. Bingo night at the Moose tonight! Gotta run! 🤪
ОтветитьI know there are a lot of Tiger stadium lovers here but looking at historical attendance. Tiger Stadium only averaged above 30k attendance in a year once 1984.
Comerica has averaged 30k yearly attendance 12 times since being built.
Also Tiger stadium had 50k Capacity from 1937-1999.
Comerica Park has 40k Capacity since being built.
I know we all love Tiger Stadium but people didn't show it like we think they did.
Attendance decline seems to be league wide. I don't like the rules of baseball changing. Example, a pitch clock. Baseball is a chess game on grass, and the real game takes time. Also, Tiger baseball was once on free tv. Not anymore,...and this is why the NFL is still strong, it is mainly on free tv. Tradition has gone out the window,..stadiums with corporate names, uniforms with sponsorship patches, I can't stand it. Prices for even a bottle of water is outrageous and not worth it. Tiger stadium was 87 years old, and hands down my favorite stadium of all time. Comerica Park? It is nice, but doesn't have me wanting to go to the games. I would rather watch Japanese baseball now.
ОтветитьI honestly don’t know what pnc park has that comerica doesn’t
ОтветитьComerica does suck😊
ОтветитьComerica like Camden Yards should not be f'd with
ОтветитьIt is a BS ballpark. The owners do not want to spend money on anything, including the players. They need new OWNERS.
Ответить"Depressed but have a soul at least" is my status
ОтветитьComerica park is probably one of the best in the leauge
ОтветитьI miss upoer deck home runs
ОтветитьYou've never been to a game there.
ОтветитьThe biggest problem I have with Comerica is the prices of the tickets
ОтветитьJust hot AF in the outfield during summer, The view is cool, food is good, Ford Field next door and it's very classic when you're leaving the game crossing over Woodward can you see something's going on at Fox theater and you see something's going on at Little Caesars Arena or at the three casinos downtown Canada across the street Lafayette and American Coney Island Hart plaza the people mover the q line the Riverwalk and much more
ОтветитьSounds like this guy just dropped a vid spewing nonsense. Comerica park is solid imo. Yea it could use some minor reno’s but this dude shit all over it because it’s old. Idk.
ОтветитьThe team is back and Comerica is rocking. Aged HORRIBLY 😊
ОтветитьWhere ya at now!!!????
Ответить
