CLE Microseminar: Substance Abuse

The prevention, detection, and treatment of substance abuse is a required MCLE course in California (CA), and included under 'Professional Responsibility' and Legal Ethics in states like New York (NY), Florida (FL), Texas (TX), and Illinois (IL). Substance abuse and dependence is a major issue in the legal profession, as studies have shown that nearly 60% of all malpractice claims arise from attorneys with alcohol related problems. There is help available through Lawyer Assistance Programs, and groups like 'The Other Bar' in California.
