Sony a6600 vs a6400 vs a6100 | Which is RIGHT FOR YOU?

In 2024, does this still hold up as it did when this video was published?

Is it possible to get rid of the green cast Sony JPEGs are known for, especially visible on your picture of the African woman?.
Are there settings on the camera that you can set and forget to change the default output of the JPEGs the camera produces so that they are more like Canon or Nikon?

Coming from a A6000, I was really leaning towards the A6100 since it's well priced and not that much different than the A6400. But 100,000 vs 200,000 actuations... Is making me have second thoughts.

Very helpful video! I've been trying to decide between the a6400 and a6600, and this definitely has helped me to make a more informed choice. I do have 1 quick question, I currently own the Sony A7ii. I'm looking to get a second camera so I can have 2 angles when shooting corporate videos. Would it be strange if I paired the A7ii with the a6400 or a6600 given how much older the A7ii is and the different sensor sizes?

@tech gear talk I just found my A6000 after being lost for 5 years. Should I trade in my a6000 for 220 dollars and upgrade to the A6400 for 1000? Are the features in the A6400 worth the extra cost?

Prob the best comparison video I have seen. You mention things that the average person can understand and what they would look for. Other channels focus on super niche details that mean nothing to me, or things that I don’t understand as an absolute beginner. Great video.

Hi! Thanks for sharing this review between the 6600 and 6400, I would need your advice on street photography and taking some shots while I play badminton and stuffs. I won't be doing as much video, highly focusing on photography and would probably be using the Sigma 30mm F1.4 DC.

hello Sagi, thank you so much for the very thorough review about Alpha 6000 series camera of sony. I’m new in using “real” camera and i’m in need of guidance in choosing what’s best for me. I’m looking at a6400 and a6600. I can take amazing pictures using my iphone and old school point and shoot camera but believe me when I saw i’m clueless in using the legit cameras out there. anyway, thanks for your review you defined well the big difference of the 2. I’m planning to use the camera for both taking pictures and filming competition / games of our kids and when we travel or when i’m doing my Yelp reviews 🤭 anyway, i need your POV on which camera is more bang for my buck since i’m considering this as my stepping stone camera to photography and hopefully lifestyle content in my posts online. Also, i need to know what’s the best lens to use as a first time buyer / user. I know this is a lot and btw, thanks for the link that you put for where can i buy it so far the price is very competitive compared to Best Buy. Some pictures from the video of a6100 VS M50 you said they have been taken with the a6100, and in this video you are using the same pics and you are saying that they have been taken with a6600... So ? bro

I've got VZ-E10 and i would love to have a backup camera, what i can take to shooting B-rolls.. What would be your suggestion to APS-C broll camera, those current A series, older 5000 series or other cameras with similiar mount?

The 6400 doesn't have stabilization (IBIS), but it is a big problem?

Thanks for a comprehensive comparison video on these three Sony Cameras. The way you presented the differences made it so I could understand the differences. I was trying to decide between the A6400 and the A6600. I found a good deal on a very clean lightly used A6600 so that is what I ended up with. I think I would have been just about as happy with the A6400. I do like the bigger battery and since I already have an A7iii I have an extra battery and a battery charger. It makes for a nice combination.

If you are willing to pay the price of the A6600 then you should probably consider buying a mid-range full frame for almost the same price. It is a little bit too expensive for a crop-sensor camera.

For a student starting film school.. no experience with a camera.. debating between the 6400 and 6600.. no idea if the bigger battery or the flash is more important?.. or if there is something else to consider? Thanks!

I found 6100 has slightly better colour.

In Sweden the prices are as following:
A6100 = 900 USD
A6400 = 1000 USD
A6600 = 1550 USD

Definently a6400 with an extra battery would be the best choice

I am a IT tech, not a AV tech, and our small church needs help with video (FB Live) presentation. I will gladly join a group but need help in choosing equipment that I am purchasing privately for the church. To begin 2-3 4k cameras capable of both light & dark scapes, motorized ptz mounts for each suspended from 30' ceiling, YoloPro switcher/ encoder for graphics overlay & hardware encoder features. 1 man operation of video aspect- not including audio or graphics presentation. Budget to $10k.
Concerned about zoom, focus remote control and powering cameras on/off for weeks on end since they will not be easily accessible. Open to any help please! Thank in advance.

I found a great deal on a used a6100 as an upgrade to my a6000. There were two things that were left out of the 6100 that it never occurred to me to check. The electronic level which I just assumed would be there, and then the IR sensor. I use and IR remote with the 6000 all the time and it was a great disappointment that it wasn't in the 6100. Maybe no one else uses it which is why it's never mentioned in any review. I get around both, but it seems to me those were odd things to leave out. Outside of that, I love the camera.

A6500 - In body stabilization, Popup Flash, Silent shooting etc.
