I forgot this song existed for some reason, just showed up in a recommended playlist again. Ellen's vocals are amazing and the music is fricking ace
ОтветитьI just started watching the Oxventure D&D games recently, and I had to look up this lovely Ellen person. Now here I am. This is a wonderful song, and she's very impressive here as well. She needs an album of her own. Best wishes to you too.
ОтветитьMad underrated
ОтветитьI just have to say that I love this song, it really speaks to me in ways that few songs do. Thank you.
ОтветитьI love Ellen a thousand times more after hearing this.
ОтветитьWhose here after seeing Ellen reduced to sobbing ruin while playing the superb and ultra epic meow experience that is STRAY ?
ОтветитьWow
ОтветитьI watched a post from Ellen Rose's channel last night, and she referenced this song and "Keep Me Around." Had to listen to it. As I told Ellen, this is such a soulful song. It speaks so much about what some people may be feeling or thinking but never verbalized. For example, not everyone I know has any idea what I felt or thoughts I've had while dealing with depression on-and-off for 26 years now. It can also include discoveries made about oneself, like gender identity, sexual orientation, or finding out if you're able to love again. This song could definitely help folks understand they're not alone in what they're dealing with and, it's okay. This song also tells people, "Although I've recovered from the trauma of something, I'm still cautious of letting people in. Please go easy on me."
I've listened to this song twice now within 13 hours. I think an official music video - live action, animated, or both - should be in the offing. Well done, Marc & Ellen!
Good job Ellen you have a beautiful voice.
ОтветитьLovely song, and Ellen's voice is so sweet and melancholic. This truly is a very good work.
ОтветитьNice rap Ellen
ОтветитьBeautiful song, wonderful lyrics and beautiful vocals from Ellen.
ОтветитьI’m here from Ellen’s new video. See plugging always works 😂
ОтветитьI agree Ellen killed it
ОтветитьJust got recommended this on Spotify and did a double-take when I saw Ellen's name lol. Very good song!
ОтветитьI found this after seeing Ellen's Twitter post about this. Dang Ellen's singing is down right amazing! I love this.
Ответить😲😲😲😲😲😲😍
ОтветитьIt is deeply heartbreaking what she went through, even though I can only simply guess what actually happened. The depression she hides, the pain she hides, no normal person can see it and even those who have gone through stuff similar to her, even though they sometimes can’t even see it. But it’s her eyes, her eyes give away how much she’s dealing with. I want to just give her a hug and tell her everything will be OK.
ОтветитьI really loved your "What We Are" which contained a TDP poster and I was also making an AMV with it since it fit and I loved it and now I find this and this is fking dope. Amazing work definitely!
ОтветитьBrilliant
ОтветитьI absolutely adore this... the music, Ellen's vocals, everything, but especially the change when she sings "I've left unsaid." It's a very powerful change!
ОтветитьWhen you came here because you found out that Ellen sang something...and then you listen to it and it's better than most professional musicians! Absolutely incredible job!

ОтветитьI thought Ellen's giggling was adorable but her voice... man!

ОтветитьWow. Just. Wow. I can tell Ellen really resonates with the lyrics extremely well. Bravo to the both of you! My only regret is I wish I had discovered this sooner.

ОтветитьThanks Marc, for the work you put into this vehicle of emotions.
ОтветитьWow. I didn't expect this song to speak to me like this when I came here. Just wanted to hear Ellen sing. This track is beautiful and hurtful at the same time. Damn.
ОтветитьYou and Ellen are fantastic. Ellen's fantastic and expressive singing voice paired with your music and writing skills make this an amazing song that I've listened to countless times.
ОтветитьLyrics for anyone who's interested
Let's just take this slow
Let’s just think this through
How can you trust someone when they can't trust you?
I learned that lesson and I learnt it well
So sorry if I don't fall under your spell
Want to be with me, want to hold my hand
But I’ve been through things that you'll never understand
Truth be told, I don't know myself
I'm not some book you can read straight off the shelf
I smile outside, but I'm cold within
Hide my sadness beneath a cheshire cat grin
You think I'm brave, but I'm far from fine
I lay a little story but I haven't got the time
’Cause I can’t let you in
I can't let you in my mind
I’m too afraid of what you'll find
And I can't let you in my head
To see the things I'd left unsaid
Once I let you in there is no getting out; once I let you in there is no getting, getting out, out
Once I let you in there is no getting out; once I let you in there is no getting, getting out, out
Once I let you in there is no getting out
Once I let you in there is no getting out
Once I let you in there is no getting out
Once I let you in there is no getting, getting out, out
I’ve lost my mind, I've cried everyday
Does it make you a bad person if you need to run away?
I fell apart, pulled myself back up
With a little bit of help and a whole lot of luck
I'm not quite fixed, though I have thick skin
There are still some things if I now weigh in
I build strong walls to hide behind
But they come like the fact that the world isn't kind
I have reached out, and I've been shut down
Wanted holes to open up, swallow me into the ground
I thought they were different, though they were unique
Turns out I was interchangable with girls who look like me
But I am not a maid and you need to come and say it
Not a problem to prefix, not your accolade
I just need time, I just need space
'Cause no one ever told you that life isn't a race
'Cause I can't let you in
I can't let you in my mind
I'm too afraid of what you'll find
And I can't let you in my head
To see the things I'd left unsaid
And I can't let you in my dreams
You might just spoil them with your schemes
No, I can't let you in my head
To see the dreams that are now dead
I found these lyrics to be extremely relatable, great job Ellen and Marc.
Life is not always easy, painful things happen to everyone, but remembering to keep a positive mental attitude can be a huge help in getting through those difficult times. This song has definitely helped me, that makes all the time and effort Ellen and Marc put into this song worth it in my book.
Thank you.
This song is absolutely beautiful. The music, lyrics and of course Ellen has a stunning voice. Also the lyrics hit me personally
ОтветитьLove it so much. Wish I could see this in concert.
Ответитьi would love to know this chord progression if anyone can figure it out
ОтветитьEllen send me here. I usually listen to some heavy stuff like Marduk, Mayhem and Cannibal Corpse but i must admit that this song is pretty goddamn great. Never thought that Ellen had this kind of singingvoice. I am impressed
ОтветитьFeels Black Box Recorder, neat song, kudos
ОтветитьThis album is awesome! As of now my favorites are this song, Wonder, and Lilies for Slumber. Also random question, but would you ever release the stems for this song?
ОтветитьThis kinda reminds me of Charli XCX or Marina? I mean those lyrics Ellen I'm gonna beat up everyone who hurt you ;~;
ОтветитьCame here for Ellen, stayed for Marc. 🤩
ОтветитьChose to play this as my 1st song of 2019. Just magic, so beautifully carried by Ellen's voice (never thought she could sound better than giggling ridiculously on Oxtra, but WOW!) with music that completely flows with the tone of the lyrics (which were my favourite part). So good.
ОтветитьYo I got so much love for Ellen, this was dope
