Why do they need their spirits lifted??? Do you see your own headline and all the constant blaring on all media outlets of how shit it is and dragon should rescue them and Boeing sucks and (literally) “BUTCH AND SUNNI ARE GONNA DIE!!?! Get them out of there!!!”

Ah, again... wait, 45 day on orbit life time? Aren't the future crews supposed to be up there for 6 months? The capsule has to have at least that life time?

They're worried about whistle blowers. So they can't tell the truth. It's procedure.

I agree it's like the movie. Just building suspense. I hope .

So, does it leave with or without crew? If I were Boeing and NASA, I'd send it back empty and run extensive tests once clear of the Station. Better to be safe than lose more thrusters at worse moments.

Let's hope they don't have to de-orbit the ISS with the StarLiner still hooked up. 🤔

Great show, as always! Thank you very much!
PS: There is now an approximately 20 sec video of the Chinese vertical lander, e.g. on X. It is supposed to land from 75 km end of the year and will be put into service next year. According to Vulga_space.

"Air conditioning is still fully functional."

At this point can we send a Space X Dragon Capsule to get them?

You don't need to do click bait, I like watching. I was highly excited by the term indefinitely, disappointing to learn I've been duped 😒

I do really like the show, so overall love what you do ❤

Fact, SpaceX leveraged a tun of engineering from cargo dragon. Cargo dragon 1st flight was in 2010. NASA signed the crew contracts in 2014. This means SpaceX had at least an 8 year head start. That's not me saying that, it facts and NASA that said that.

I think it's flawed reasoning to say "Boeing worked on Apollo so they must know what they're doing", or anything like that. Companies are potentially immortal as legal entities, but there's nobody working at Boeing now who worked on Apollo. It's not really the same company in any meaningful sense.

The original 2019 unmanned launch was a demonstration mission. This mission had people on it. This mission needs to be considered a real mission, not a demonstration. NASA seems to have thrown safety out the window. Boeing should have still had to do a complete unmanned mission successfully. If this mission was unmanned, no lives would be in jeopardy and they wouldn't have learned anything less without people on board.

It can't stay on iss too long or iss will need a push it's a lot of added mass for it's orbit it's going to need to gain a 3.7% speed boost or get pushed up another 27km to return to net zero.

If it was mean setup auto guidance let it return unmanned and let dragon recover the the crew.
I know this is the biggest space failure for them one of the oldest space companies needs help from the new kid. But I feel if that was to fail during re-entry and loose the crew it will probably be the end of the company especially after the Max-Q problems

A full-scale investigation should be done to find out if Boeing's problems with the spacecraft are in any way related to DEI or affirmative action hiring in any way, which I'll bet dollars to donuts it is.

How many launches did SpaceX's Cargo Dragon make before the development of Crew Dragon?

They started with a non-crewed version and worked out the kinks first. Then took that and applied it to the crewed version. Thus giving them a HUGE headstart and a lot less headaches when it came to the crew tests.

Boeing just jumped straight to the crewed version. No cargo version first. Probably not the smartest decision.
