Didn't know about the weird places of Venice except the haunted hotel I heard once when I was little. This city seem to have a mysterious vibe and I love it ✨

I was in Venice in November 2023. While there I took a ton of pictures. One day while walking about, I was inspired to take a photo of this cool bridge thing connecting two buildings. I don't know what inspired me, other than it looked cool. The previous night I was listening to Robin Trower's album "Bridge of Sighs". Turns out the bridge I took a photo of was... the Bridge of Sighs. Very very eerie and weird.

so the story I heard about the bridge of sighs
isin the either 18rh or 17th century i'm not sure of the century, but it became a very popular place to send your very wealthy homosexual son also fallen women, divorces, blah blah blah, but it became very homosexual and the town people didn't know what to do so they imported all these prostitutes who would stand on that bridge looking at the old prisoner's bridge they wanted them to make them straight and of course that didn't happen so they said they would sigh at the beautiful boys

Fun fact.... Divine Comedy was also British Band.... National Express.... loved that song

Love Venice. Especially in the off season when the weather is cool and the tourists hordes are thin. I went myself in November of ‘99. A fantasy of mine is to own one of those old Palazzo’s that I could pull up to in my boat and enter into a grand room lit exclusively by a giant candelabra hanging from the ceiling. Where I can plan a grand Venetian masquerade ball. Where Bauhaus would play at midnight. Sigh. I can dream cant I?

Fabulous video, such a beautiful place, I bet that narrow alleyway and the flooded crypt would be really creepy at night time, love the way you give us history of the place as well and it was fabulously shot. Well done and thank you.

I was in Venice last year and stayed in calle varisco your video is bringing back memories I loved my time in Venice I was there for several days

The campanile is what the bell tower is called. I went to Venice when I was about 11/12 my little brother would have 9/10 we lost him in the middle of Venice cus he bent down to tie his shoes. Weirdly I’ve very good with directions and I can pretty much remember exactly where I found him now I’m 35 I even remember directions to my hotel

Next step should be visiting the crypts of Rome.
Those are the most bigger and extended crypts in the world.
There's literally a city under the Eternal City.
A Necropolis... a city of the Dead.

But of course it's required a guide to venture there. None is allowed to enter freely. Some could get lost and never return.
Those crypts are simply too vast and no one have ever fully mapped them.

But, I'm glad to see you have enjoyed the city of Venice. The Most Serene city of Italy.
