Do you two ever quit complaining ⁉️ Fucking Hell I keep trying to watch and the more I watch the more you complain. It's fucking staggering once you notice it. Unsubing❗️
ОтветитьWhat a bad rap for Seawind. Either the boat is a POS, or these sailors are incompetent and giving the brand à bad name. Wouldn't touch the thing with a 10-foot pole!
ОтветитьWe all know it can be stressful at times but it seems your experiences are 10% pleasure but 90% stress. Other cruisers experience/publish less stress, with my family cruising worldwide we were less stressed except in the med. Do you think cruising will be less stressful in the Med or as I experienced the manic congestion may make it much more stressful queuing off the fuel dock blowing in the wind or avoiding swinging boats in congested anchorages, is the Med really the ideal destination ?
ОтветитьSimples your life, your life style the rough with the smooth comes to mind. But you are on a fluid that moves with wind and current. So not so much smooth as less rough. I am a ex merchant seaman also a cook days baked tatties could not put anything on top of the stove. Not a little boat like yours but big ships.
ОтветитьWould it be ok if I did NOT give an opinion ? There are so many wise and interesting opinions here, I just want to absorb all the advice. 😊
ОтветитьI used to enjoy watching your channel.
ОтветитьReally enjoy your video's, keep going be safe, both across so natural /honest
ОтветитьEnjoyed that you could get the sails up with favorable winds and loved Terisa with the dolphins.
ОтветитьYou want some cheese with that whine !!!! Every week they’re bitching & moaning about something else . Like what are you in a hurry for! Just sit back & enjoy every single moment you can . You’re in a beautiful place together just be thankful for what you DO have .
ОтветитьI have been told by a seasoned sailor once, that birds that hitch a ride way away from land are usually dehydrated, so it's a good idea to give them some water. It seemed to be looking for water, sitting on the sink ... ;-))))
ОтветитьSailing like life has highs and lows. It’s a new boat. It takes time to get through the shakedown stage. Then there’s always maintenance and repair. It’s good to see you guys just being real and sharing both sides of the adventure.
I enjoy the channel. Thank you.
The reason you’re seasick is the hobby horsing nature of a catamaran. I suppose it’s a trade off for the added space. But I’ll always be a monohull sailor. To each their own. Fair winds!
ОтветитьOh how awful this must be you guys need a vacation, oh wait. 🙄
ОтветитьThis video had a lot of things to gripe about. Hope things improve for you.
ОтветитьSince moving onto your new boat, it seems as if your experience has been so different from what you'd imagined -- resulting in daily disappointment and frustration and confusion, rather than fun and joy and appreciation. Hello, human experience! The doorway to happiness is not through having everything go well, but in being able to find and stay focused on gratitude and forgiveness, and becoming present to the exquisite gift of life, however imperfect and difficult. Wishing that you can find a mindset in which beauty and nature and daily joys can come back into focus, so you can let go of broken expectation and all that lies outside your control. If it would be supportive to have an expert on board while you master this giant, powerful new boat, may you find the courage to forgive yourselves for not having it turn out the way you'd wished, and get the support you need. This is not meant as criticism, I feel great compassion for you, as being a vlogger exposes your vulnerabilities. However, wanting the happiness groove to return for you! Best, Lee
ОтветитьI’m embarrassed about the negativity from you both, the boat has had some teething problems but most of it is your making,I’ll bet sea wind are sorry they got into bed with this lot don’t worry I’ve unsubscribed
ОтветитьFYI - Just had to re-subscribe - U tube gremlins
ОтветитьSpent a good few day on some of those gas platforms in the Gulf of Thailand 😅 Can’t remember ever seeing a sailing boat while offshore there 😮
ОтветитьThanks for the video. I have watched all episodes for the past seven years. To be philosophical , the joy is in the whole journey, not just the last year. So excited about your plans. Look forward to the next episode.
ОтветитьFor info to anyone who reads these comments: Where a Risk of Collision may exist, if you have RADAR (as Ruby Rose 2 does) turn it ON and use MARPA, or at the very least a VRM and EBL. Using AIS is generally ok and has it place as an Aid to Navigation, but data can not be guaranteed, where as VRM/EBL gives a instant real time picture that can be monitored and MARPA can calculate the CPA and TCPA for you. If you don't know what those acronyms mean, RTFM or speak to somebody who does. They are standard components of RADAR, easy to use and when navigating areas with multiple vessels, the RADAR will track targets for you with visual warnings if a vessel is bearing down.
ОтветитьReally enjoyed watching - love seeing what you get up to while sailing!
ОтветитьIt must be terrible sailing around on your new cat. 😡
ОтветитьSome amazingly ill informed and depressing comments!
I had to watch the video twice to make sure I didn’t miss something awful.
Turns out I didn’t - perhaps they’re just jealous - I know I am!
Let’s look at what we saw:
- Comfortable motor sail in light conditions 😊
- good boat speed from the look of it even on one engine that you’d have been very happy with on RR1 😊
- 90° tacking angle while motor-sailing at good speed in very light airs - amazing! 😊
- Shackle pin and batten car (that, incidentally, were made by a company like Ronstan or Harken not Seawind) came loose. 😢
- Weather lovely - even if light winds 😊
- Able to cook pasta on the salmon/cockpit standing up! 😊
- Dolphins!! 😊😊😊
- Modern AIS and Radar all working as aids to avoid collision. 😊
- Night watches in no rain and calm weather. 😊
- Sunny day 😊
- Bird perching on the window 😊
- 3 days at sea - and it’s “very very pleasant” 😊
- Australian flag on the port shrouds! 😊😊😊
- Sailing to islands 😊
- Rushing to get somewhere😢😢😢
- “boat is so incredibly comfortable” “I’m happy out here” 😊
- Dolphins “they’re back!” 😊😊😊
- “A slow but mercifully uneventful sail”
What’s not to like!
Gentlepersons don't sail to windward; they motor!😊
ОтветитьLove the flag on port!
ОтветитьStir clear, and have an awesome time my friends. Beautiful reality sailing is what your doing, and I love it.
ОтветитьAhh just reading through your comments and I feel for you, people say things and are oblivious to the situation you’re in.
The one piece of advice I was given by the previous owner of my sailing cat was ( have no time limits when cruising , choose your weather to maximise the sailing experience )
Unfortunately you are in a situation where the weather is not in your favour and time is limited, don’t let it bother you in 2 weeks time you will have forgotten about it.
Stay safe Glyn from Shark bay au
Humans really love dolphin.
ОтветитьTrying to get to your destination as fast as possible is strange. it's the journey that gives you the freedom to be together & enjoy boat life doing whatever you like. Terisa you are a star.
ОтветитьNot another episode of complaining. Why is the glass half full all the time??????????? I am going to unsubscrbe because all I hear from the two of you is how tuff the sail was, how unhappy you are and so on.
ОтветитьHere's a question that has been on my mind since I first heard about your plan to ship RR2 to the Med from Phuket: What are your thoughts about the ship that RR2 will be catching a ride on passing close to Yemen on its way to the Suez Canal?
ОтветитьDid this trip last year on 12m cat, on the nose ALL the way to Singapore Straits, 😢
Be careful where you anchor when past Tioman Island as lots of issues at the moment.
Why don't you sail to the Med? Is it because of the troubles or do you just want to get there quicker.
ОтветитьIn the words of Captain Bligh ‘ The flogging will continue until morale improves’
ОтветитьTerysa, Emotional Basket-Case, I feel so sorry for her having to go through such hell, maybe if more people would give them money she would feel better, ya think....
ОтветитьEmergency pasta! That's the 2024 equivalent of instant ramen back at 'uni' in the '90s ! You're a sailing vlog with 165K subscribers; Set an example (or at least don't film the f***ing packet).
ОтветитьThe love the simple reality of your channel. Stay with the meme. It works for me.
ОтветитьThis voyage really brings home, why electric propulsion is just not up to ocean passages yet. Nice sailing when the wind backed tho... Loved the dolphins, they do brighten up the day...
ОтветитьHow do you know the bearing of ship if you have no electricity.???
Ответить5 knotts against the wind only 1 engine. how many hp? I can't do that with my penta 50.
ОтветитьThe new boat seems to have brought unhappiness, dissatisfaction that I hadn't seen before...
ОтветитьPretty nice sail. The dolphins were very cool.
ОтветитьThank you for the videos!
ОтветитьPersonally I enjoy Nick, he tells it how it is and it's not always peaches and cream cruising on a boat. Teresa is a nice balance and a good storyteller which makes the videos enjoyable to watch.
ОтветитьAre you finding the motion of a catamaran worse than a monohull while cruising?
ОтветитьLovely ...those Dolphins
ОтветитьConstant Bearing Decreasing Range (CBDR), It means you and the other moving object (boat, ship, plane, etc.) are going to eventually rendezvous in the same sea space, air space, road space.
ОтветитьSale on Silver Girl!!
ОтветитьGlad the dolphins made you guys feel better😊
ОтветитьI never understood why you would motorsail and tack into wind on the nose, if the motor is on and the sea state is tolerable it’s rhumb line time.
We’re in Thailand as well.
Cheers ❤
