I will keep taking a statin. I delt with the side effects and pushed through.
Now my body has adjusted to it and my cholesterol is cut in half. I was one of those people where diet and weight loss wasn't enough. Taking a statin worked for me.
Both of my parents died from heart disease in their 50's genetics is not my friend.

What's sad about the medical cabal is they can't comprehend that the majority of people can't afford these meds when they already take 5 other meds with 50.00 copays.....they talk like they are oblivious

did anyone else catch the foul play going on if this is true? patients who were given a placebo must have been lied to by doctors. i don't believe anyone who went to a clinic would willingly accept taking a placebo over the prescription. there's some shady business practices happening during these studies.

FFS high cholesterol is not dangerous or causes heart disease, if its high then its high for a very good reason and you need to find the root cause which actually does cause the damage mainly insulin resistance and or type 2 diabetes (type 2 being the end result of insulin resistance) all of which is caused by eating too many carbohydrates (which all break down to excess sugar/glucose which your body doesn't want or need!) Address your diet and everything will take care of itself, eat plenty protein and fat from real foods (not plants and certainly not carbohydrates!) and stay hydrated it really is that simple! Your body isn't stupid it knows what it's doing and can repair itself if you eat the correct food! You Don't need medication or any metabolic poisons just fix your diet its that simple!

Maybe they should take sugar away from type 2 diabetics first as insulin resistance is the number one risk factor.

High cholesterol has not been proven to be a risk factor.

This is really exciting! My doctor has told me that it's inevitable that I'll be put on statins one day. Hopefully, I can take this instead!

I find it crazy that we can make synthesized treatments for high cholesterol but providing healthy foods is out of the question. And taking vitamins and herbs are not "studied" enough. They think we are stupid.

Cholesterol is also made by the body cause the body needs cholesterol..some people make too much cholesterol so they need much more than just diet and exercise..but this new medication ..might lower bad cholesterol but the side effects are just as bad as high cholesterol…so be very careful when you decide to try this new $400. Dollar a month medication …try some fish oils and flaxseed oil …that too helps lower bad cholesterol and is much cheaper…I know first hand …
