I think you're meaning faux-documentary? A mockumentary is something like This is Spinal Tap.

When the genre is mystery you need to get someone else to do the clicking on the movie part, that way what you're watching is even more of a mystery (until the title drop).

Great review! I feel like this kind of movie sounds good in practice, connecting them to other media to make it seem more real, but it never really turns out that great.

It’s nice to see a channel that actually has the take of “Meh.” So many seem to think all movies are either brilliant or garbage, and you have to be over-the-top about it regardless.

Hey Cecil I just wanted to say how much I like these "I roll it, I review" episodes. It makes me pine for the days of cable where we just came upon movies and shows while flipping channels and occasionally finding real gems. I feel sorry for filmmakers today. It seems finding quirky, niche films that might become cult classics is next to impossible now. Keep up the good work my friend!

Right there it made me think of a 2020s version of the 1970s ufo paranormal docu/schlockumentaries. I'm actually a fan of the ones made by Wheeler Winston Dixon.

I really liked this film, mainly because it took a neat approach to the "mysterious vanishing" concept. But I tell everyone they need to watch the series, not the film. The series is paced better and includes a LOT more interesting--and vital--details.

I see the Megaforce game and first thing I think of is the one intro Matt Stone and Trey Parker did for the South Park VHS' and DVD's.

I wonder which Springfield that water tower lives in. It isn't my Springfield... but there's one in almost every state, so that doesn't narrow it down much. (BTW my Springfield is in Missouri.)

There's an interesting movie is this category called "Project Eerie" definitely worth ordering, the packing in very interesting. Not expensive by any means

Thanks for the review, Cecil. While I love the genre, mystery films really can be huge hits or misses. I guess all genres have that, but I'm sure the number of bad "mystery films" I've seen way outnumbers other genres. Keep up the good work on this project. It's a ton of fun to watch.

Damn, if 2 had come up it would have been "The Wall" (not the Pink Floyd movie). Would have been interesting to hear your thoughts about that one. Also, boxed Megaforce for Atari, so cool to see, I only have a loose copy. Crazy to think what movies they tried to turn into games bitd.
