Well, I have empathy for plants too. I know that they feel pain, have emotions, respond to stimuli from their surroundings, etc. So how can I kill them for my selfish reasons?

Lastly, plants do not bear offsprings for our consumption. They do it propagate their species. How is it ethical to harvest their genitals and other reproductive parts for our gains (food, essence, perfume, etc)?

Combine harvesters kill millions of rabbits, rats, mice, snakes and lizards to produce tofu. And same for wheat, barley etc. And then there's land clearing for increased production of those beans and grains. All that natural habitat for naturally occurring animals..
